The gumbo turned out great!
Thanks to my friend who told me about tasso. Smoked pork.
Boy was that good! You add it to the gumbo to help the flavor.
Jeff is washing the big pan for me which I appreciate. It is hard to wash.
He is also cleaning the rice cooker.
potato salad, deviled eggs, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and black berries. and cantelope and a green salad.
All good!

I have never heard of tasso... I wonder if it's even something that we can get around here. I had a hard time even finding proscuitto the last time I shopped. It used to be available in every local deli case, but I had to settle for the prepackaged stuff.

That's awesome! Yes, I think with 7 pounds some of it must be more than water weight :)

I'm up to 160 now. I need to stop eating so much chocolate!!!
I guess the Rexulti is another med that can cause you to pack on the pounds… I gained 50lbs on Seroquel (I was a skeleton before I started taking it), but lost quite a bit on the South Beach Diet. I guess I could do that again, but only if I had to.

OhKay 09-26-2017 09:15 AM

I'm not happy with my weight, which is still at 160. I'm 5'9", but it's still too heavy for me.

I've cut down a lot on the chocolate recently, and I'm drinking more water. It is too soon to expect any results from that tho.
I switched from taking stevia in my coffee (except as a treat when I went to Dunkin Donuts to get my iced coffee/latte) back to sugar a while ago. I drink about 7 (?) cups a day, so it adds up. So, I started drinking every other cup with stevia this morning, hopefully I'll switch back entirely, and maybe that will help over time.

I need to find a way to go to the BR more than every week and a half… maybe I can become a regular at that restaurant we had lunch at on Sunday to keep things going lol.

I think it's way too soon for Rexulti to be an issue with my weight. I don't know how long I will be on it though. It is supposed to be similar to Abilify, which didn't cause me to gain any weight.

I read that it isn't weight neutral. Phillips caplets work for me usually.

OhKay 09-26-2017 09:54 AM

Weight gain is a potential side effect. I think it's really common, but not everyone will experience it.

I tried the Philips caplets, but they didn't work.
I take 2 bottles of mag. citrate at once and they give me diarrhea, so that's how I can go. The last time I took it, Corey took 20 minutes to get out of the BR so I **** myself. I guess I have to take it during the day, but it causes a lot of nausea.
