I swear like a truck driver, too. I don't think swearing means someone has a negative outlook on life at all. The two things are totally unrelated.
I love how you try to use positive language and think positively in general. I think it's a good coping mechanism, too. I try to be positive, but sometimes it requires a lot of redirection on my part. I'm so glad that you got your parents' flight info sorted out. They must be there by now. I hope you have a Merry Christmas, and everything goes as smoothly as possible for you |

Hi,
Parents are coming after Christmas for three nights in a nearby hotel. I had my mother tell me what foods she can eat --- it changes from year to year. She started with what she cannot eat -- any baked goods that have soy/soy flour. . . . I told her I only want to know what she CAN eat:
Then she mentioned she was making a SOUP. I said hubby can make soup for her when she is here. =-=-=-=- I slept through a phone / computer appointment I had for work. It was for 3:00 pm and I woke up near 4:00. So I had to reschedule for next week. I am supposed to be trained for 45 mins to teach some software. For some reason I got involved in my father's history project on trains near his part of the state. He needs some pictures that the museum will make into a panel display. I was on the phone a while tonight showing him what I could find just on google images and even youtube. Because it is a historical display, he needs the providence of the photo -- when, where, exactly what train, . . . A museum person will then do paperwork to get the rights to display the pictures in the exhibit. So I guess I did that this evening instead of twitter and t.v. =-=-=-= Hubby and I do not Christmas. It's not one of our things and I am grateful for that. M |

Most people celebrate something this time of year. Hubby comes from a non-Christian culture. And growing up, my family only did Christmas as a religious holiday -- went to to mass and came home for a meal. For a few years, Dad and my brothers would cut down a tree in the woods and we would decorate it with popcorn garlands and tinsel. We had small presents like stocking stuffers and for each other we sometimes made presents. And we did some Christmas caroling some years. Since I am no longer religious, I do not celebrate Christmas. M |

Today, cleaning lady helped with all the papers that had piled up.
And we re-arranged the furniture in the living room, making it easier to have conversations. Hubby decided a few mins ago that he would wash/wax and vaccum inside the cars tomorrow before my parents get here. I hope that they have a safe easy flight. After they check into their hotel, the four of us are expected to go out for Italian food. M |

So Dad emailed me the time that was an hour later than the first time
he gave me earlier in the day! First he said 2:30 on the phone. Then he said 3:30 in the email. It doesn't matter much because I am not driving, but I did ask for the itinerary a month ago. They are coming here in a taxi-- could be 45 min or 60 min drive from airport. Then they will want to go check in at the hotel. Then we will go out to eat together. I'm guessing 6:30 for dinner. M |
