I saw relatively few side effects compared to other meds when I looked it up on drugs.com. But I did see that nausea, vomiting, and constipation were common side effects...
I hope for once, you get lucky, and don't have any side effects from this med, and it works well for you |

The pharmacy will not fill the Fetzima until they get a call back from the
doctor. I wonder what that is about. ?? |

There is no generic available for it, so you probably need a prior authorization for it before your insurance company will approve it...
I hope it is not too expensive |

I think my insurance is not going to cover pdoc's stupid med.
I needed the doc to start me on the drug I wanted so I could give it a try before we return to work. It's too late now and I am no longer able to play around with anything new. Angry. Eff her. She does not listen to me. Sometimes she seems to be criticizing me for not getting better. =-=-=-=-= At the last appt, she mentioned ECT. I said "No" because I know a lot about it. I went to the initial ECT appt with my work friend and helped him for months. ECT did not help fix his bipolar depression. It made things worse for him. A poor outcome. The last time I saw him he was not the same. M Last edited by Mari; 07-28-2018 at 05:37 AM. |

I'm sorry that your pdoc is not listening to you, and you feel like she is judging you for not getting better
You can try calling the pharmacy to get an update on the prior auth, or contact the insurance company directly (mine is open on Saturdays) to see if they are going to approve it or not, so you don't have to waste anymore time on this med, and can (hopefully) try the one you want, or one that you think may work out well for you Most health plans have their drug formularies online, and many are searchable. If you feel up to it, you can take a look at yours to see if the med is on it, and what the restrictions are (prior auth, quantity limits, step therapy, etc), Sometimes they require patients try one med in a class of drugs before they will approve another more expensive drug (has happened to me). The only direct knowledge I have about ECT is from 2 women who started doing treatments many years ago. They both have serious memory problems, their personalities have changed, and their mental health problems have actually gotten worse over time. I know things are probably different/better now, but I would never do it. |

I can understand that. You have a hard enough time with meds with fewer possible side effects...
I think it's "funny" that as many (and as major) side effects as some of the new meds have, most of the old ones have more. I've been through some real horror shows from both. |
