Gosh, I think its great that the property manager has found a
place with a first floor level for you. I'd tell Corey that its the
best place for you and him. That you can't afford to wait
2 or 3 more months for the other apartment. Which is on the
3rd floor, and that its to many stairs for you period.

And that the other apartments would not only mean you would
have to get rid of one of the kitties, and personally I would tell
him it would have to be one of his kitties not just say The one
you did. I can't remember her name right now. But that way
maybe it would dawn on him how hard its going to be for both
of you.

And also let him know how much the other apartments are going
to cost, and how long its going to be before their going to be
available to move in too.
In other words do some research for him.

I hope you decide on the 1st floor apartment.

To bad you can't just move without him on the decision.

Then it would just be were you want it too be.

I know that would just be a nightmare.

I was SOOOO TIRED yesterday when I got offline and REALLY needed a nap, but I couldn't fall asleep because of all of my anxiety. So, I got up and started searching for apartments again, which just made matters worse.

When Corey got home, he said he thought we had already settled things on the phone... we would be taking that ground floor apartment... it sure as hell didn't sound like that on the phone, but WHAT A F'ING RELIEF!!! :):):)
Dottie is here to stay!!! :):):)
THEN I was able to take a cat nap :)

The asst. property manager, Janet, said that I/we could view the apartment on Feb. 1st after the current tenant has moved out, but he has already started moving. There was a moving truck parked in my spot when I came home yesterday, and nobody else in the building is leaving. Maybe if he vacates the apartment sooner, we can take a look at it sooner. It has been remodeled, but Corey will only want to move in if it is as nice or nicer than the one we're living in now. It should be, but I still have my fingers crossed.

I don't know how much they will have to do to make the apartment move-in ready. Probably not much, since the current occupant has only been living there for 2 months. So, maybe we won't have long to wait to move in as long as everything goes well.

A move isn't imminent, so I can't start packing yet. I'm going to start throwing some s- out, and although the apartment is pretty clean, I will start doing a little extra cleaning to make things easier for me for when we do move. Because one way or another, we are moving.

Wow, what a nice surprise!

I hope he moves out sooner so you can move it quicker.
maybe you can get a good nap in today.

Kay

Maybe he got off the phone or texting and thought about it. And realized you were right and could not do the 3 flights of stairs. And just thought okay
I'll just tell her we made the decision to take the ground floor apartment.

Because of course he doesn't want to get rid of Dottie either.
But either way I'm so glad to hear this. He is really starting to think
about things too.

Its so much better news than you had yesterday. And whether you
can see the apartment before February 1st or not. Its still good.

Thank you, ladies :grouphug:

Bizi, I've been sober since July 20, 2015, so about 3 1/2 years. It's been surprisingly easy since I started taking Seroquel almost right after that. Except for resisting the rare fleeting craving, I don't think I deserve any credit for being strong- especially at this point. If anything, Corey's drinking is a deterrent. It's hard to watch. I will never have a drink again.

I think you are right, Donna. I think after Corey got off the phone with me, he thought about the situation, and realized I was right. The 3rd floor apartment was never an option. We will have to move somewhere else if this apartment doesn't work out for some reason...

But what if there is something wrong with the apartment?
I ran into my old neighbor, Mary, yesterday and she said nobody stays there long (with the exception of the girls who lived there for years before it was remodeled), and she's right...
First, the property manager's friend moved in, and then moved out after 2 months. The word is that she moved across the street to be closer to her mother once an apartment opened up over there, but who knows.
But the current occupant was living in a 1 bedroom and asked to be moved to a 2 bedroom. He took the apartment, but I don't know why he's moving out so fast (also 2 months I think)? Who knows.
The rent is high for the size of the apartments here, so that may be why he's leaving. He may have found something bigger in the same price range- or cheaper.

I'm trying to be optimistic, but you better believe I'm going to look over that apartment from floor to ceiling. I know it has been remodeled, so what could really be wrong with it?

I can't wait to see it.
