Thinking good thoughts for you, Kay

OhKay 03-06-2019 09:15 AM

He's does depend heavily on me. He's spoiled and takes me for granted. I don't think he will learn anything from this incident other than, hopefully, not to call me THAT name.

The apartment didn't come with any directions for how to use the central air/heat thermostat. I didn't bother trying myself, but Corey said he figured it out, and told me what to do to change the temperature. It always says it's 74-75 degrees, but it's cold in here a lot. I hate being cold!
Last night I took a look at the thermostat, and tried to increase the temp, and the screen went black. Apparently the thing takes batteries, and needed new ones. Hopefully we'll have better luck staying warm now. It's 16 degrees outside right now, and I'm nice and toasty :)

The only room left to be unpacked and organized is the office. I have to take some boxes out of the closet because I'm looking for some that can go on the top shelf, so I can make room for other things, but I'm not up to that yet. And I have a bunch of stuff that needs to go on my desktop, but I had to throw away the things I was keeping it in because it was cardboard and falling apart. I went to Stapes yesterday, but didn't find anything I liked that would meet my needs. I will try the other Staples that is nearby, and if I don't find anything there, there may be something at Target. IDK.

There are 3 cats that come up to the living room slider, and one of them in particular drives Rocky nuts!!! He keeps jumping up on his hind legs and putting his paws on the slider, and running back and forth along the length of the door sending the vertical blinds flying. He's been making strange noises, and we don't know if he wants to kiss or kill the other cat, who keeps rubbing his or her face all over the other side of the glass during all of it. I feel so bad that Rocky's getting so stressed out, but there's nothing I can do about it. I have been trying to lure him away from the door by feeding him (because this usually happens when it's around the time the cats to eat anyway), and then trying to give him attention, but he goes right back to the door afterwards. Buddy usually hangs out in the background.

I have a dentist appointment today. They called me yesterday to ask me to come in 1/2 hour later. That's fine by me. I'm in no rush to get there because I'm not in the mood for it.

Sorry I don't have a clue about the kitty. Hopefully you can figure
it out.

I hope the dentist appointment goes well.

oh cats I am sure that is some territorial issues. There is such a thing as alpha cats at least that is what it is like in this home. Hattie is the alpha cat and picks on hazel.
This must be so hard to watch.

how did the dentist go?

OhKay 03-07-2019 10:26 AM

Oh, I'm sure that there are territorial issues at play. We have a Feliway diffuser in the kitchen (close to the living room), and in the office where the cat boxes are, to prevent scratching and urine marking. Hopefully there will be no issues with that stuff because he is so stressed. He is an alpha cat. He has been keeping watch by the slider.

My dentist appointment went fine. It takes me 12-15 minutes to brush my teeth with an electric toothbrush every morning because of the OCD. So, there's always very little for the dental assistant to do, and I don't have any cavities. I love the secretary there. She's a doll, so I love seeing her.

I went to Target and Staples yesterday to see if they had any desktop organizers I liked, but I struck out again. I want something like what I had, but I couldn't come up with anything on online searches either, so I'm going to have to think outside of the box, and buy something different. I will find something. I have to. I want to set up my office and get rid of the last of the boxes...
We have a million empty boxes, and Corey hasn't taken ANY out. I put some in a lawn and leaf bag to make it easier for him to carry, and put it behind the trash can, but he still hasn't taken those few boxes out, and I'm not going to break my back doing it myself

I have no business running around and walking through stores like I have been. I'm walking funny, and my right leg in particular is bothering me. But I've been driven (in the internet searches as well), so I guess I'm still at least still hypo.

I'm supposed to have my nails done tomorrow. The eczema around my nail beds has cleared up enough so that the acetone shouldn't bother them. I'm still having problems with other areas of my fingers and hands. They are better, but some are still pretty bad.

I have to go grocery shopping today. Not looking forward to it at all.

Dmom3005 03-07-2019 01:14 PM

Kay

I hope the nail appointment goes well.

I also hope spring is coming for you. And you find what you want or
something that will suffice for the office.
