Self Care

Tonight was the first time in two or three months that I trimmed my toe nails.

I also sort of did a quickie version of exfoliating my feet.

I am so very depressed but I felt calm enough and had enough focus
to do this task.

A brother of my friend asked me me to go to the hospital to see her (brother
lives on the other side of the state).

Hospital protocol was so frustrating and close to impossible.
When it did work, it was agonizingly slow.

I got lost driving on the way home even with the help of map apps on my phone.

Brother has a fcking vacation trip planned for Germany but has an expectation that I will continue to help with his sister.

Those are high expectations... is this a close friend?
Is this the same friend that you were visiting before, who is kinda unpleasant?
It was nice of you to go, especially considering the difficulty getting there and past the hospital protocol :hug::hug:

Sorry about getting lost despite the Map app on your phone. It happens to me frequently as well :hug::hug:

if she doesn't have some one at home to help care

for her she is eligible for PT rehab...probably a couple of weeks at least.
sorry for getting lost....I hate that. even my gps gets me confused at times too.

She's my friend and I will miss her when she is gone.

She and I have been sort of friends for forty years.
She's weird, but we get along.
When I visited her a week or two ago, she was not in good shape so I was not surprised by the hospitalization news from the brother.
=-=

Until the short phone call with the brother after my hospital visit with her
I did not know that he had a somewhat detailed plan.
He will move in with her or move her to his place in another close-enough city.

He said that he would get their niece and the niece's daughter to help my friend while he is in Germany.

He's an a-hole. But my guess is that he will mostly provide appropriate care for her.
I saw how he helped his mother years ago when the mother had Hospice come to her house.

Right now I do not know where my friend is . . . whether in the hospital or at home or whatever.

I texted brother but got no answer.

medication talk at the hospital

Kay,

I was so frustrated about the hospital.
She had been in the hospital for nearly 19-20 hours with no decent meds.

One list of meds a student in the Pharmacy Dept went over with her and me included what seemed to me crappy meds
like restoril, neurontin, . . .Eventually she got a couple that helped her sleep although she was struggling in her sleep.

=====
The MD had prescribed serious pain meds that she had at home.
He should have worked out whatever was necessary to get pain
pills to her while she was in the hospital.
