thank you so much. I can't wait to see the gi doctor. My stomach has really been bothering me and my constipation. The otc medicines haven't been helping the indigestion or whatever it is. I have drinking ginger tea, chamomille tea, peppermint tea. just been reading that they can also be dangerous
|
Bobby
Call the gi doctor and see if you can get on the cancellation list. Also see if they can get you in sooner. Keep calling daily, that is what a lot of people do. Donna :grouphug: |
I am not really up to it. I am so stressed out
|
Sorry Bobby
Just do what you can. Donna :grouphug: |
Cecilia has been inviting me over usually once a week and gives me delicious salad and dessert. I play so much with her papillon Prince who is a love bunny.
Sofia is timid but I always try to give her some chicken. I am going to try to start my diet today. i am so afraid to get on the scale. i woke up depressed but then the antidepressant kicked in. Cecilia told me there should be blood with colon cancer. I am obsessed. I will ask the doctor if he can give me medication for my chronic constipation. Each morning I am afraid my laxative will stop working .My second oldest friend Kathy called and said she wanted to take me out for my birthday. She lives on the west side. She has a wonderful marriage. Her husband is Italian and plays the cello. She still gives music lessons. Her mother died of lung cancer I when Kathy was in her late teens. My mother told me that she had lung cancer but I couldn't tell Kathy. I loved Mrs.H-it was so frustrating. I kept on dropping hints but Kathy was told she was suffering from pleurisy. They sent Kathy to a boarding school and she usually would get into a program and go to Europe for the summer. That is where she met her future husband. She has a son with two young .children and she lost her daughter Sarah when she was about two years old to whelms tumor. The prognosis was supposed to be good. Sarah was a precocious little blondy. Such a tragedy. Sarah is still in the present for Kathy. Kathy has a lot of ailments now but that doesn't stop her at all. She still plays tennis with two aleve. She and her husband are going to Alaska and Vancouver this summer for vacation. She said she would pick me up from the colonoscopy if it was before her trip. She had dangerous skin cancer some years ago but her doctor spotted it so quickly. She could have died. I bought another cell phone yesterday. It is much easier than my old cell phone. I didn't get the texting and sending pictures because it was 4 or 5 dollars more a month. |
I'm so happy that your blood pressure has gone down since you started taking the new medication! :)
I will be glad when you get in to see the GI and get something for your stomach pain and constipation (lactulose is good for that) It's great that you are open to having a colonoscopy done, especially since you suffer with significant constipation. Colon cancer doesn't always cause bleeding, and when there is blood in the stool, it usually is not visible. What a sad story about your friend, but she sounds like a very strong lady! I hope that you enjoy your time out together. I hope that you like your new cellphone! :) |
Thank you for sharing bobby.
I enjoyed reading about your friends and their pets. There is a test for helping to rule out colon cancer it used to be called hemocult. You take stool samples and mail them off to a lab. It is called something else now. Ask your doctor if you can do that test. (((((HUGS))))) bizi |
I have heard about it. With the laxatives I just have diarrhea
|
i see my heart doctor on june 26 at 10:15
|
something is wrong with my computer. Robert is coming over tonite to help with the new blood pressure cuff. I hope if the computer stops working again he will figure out why. The laxative didn't work so I am drinking some magnesium citrate. I had a lot of cheese yesterday and I will check to see if it constipating.
I feel so bloated |
I thought that you were having Diarrhea?
Could you suffer from irritable bowel syndrome? IBS? sorry for the back and forth.... bizi |
the laxative causes the diarrhea. I just read how constipating dairy is and I had so much cheese yesterday. I have to read up on IBS. I am dependent on laxatives. I could have that. thanks
|
me too bobby. I take 1250 mg of magnesium oxide every night, that keeps me regular.
bizi |
that is also why I am afraid I have colon cancer
love bobby |
Bobby
My thought is if the cheese was good then just take a little more of something to feel better. I take the tablets of fiber they really seem to help me. I just take them when my stomach feels like I need them. But at first I took them 6 a day religiously because that was what I needed. I still take 4, 3 or 4 days a week. They really help me. Donna :grouphug::hug: |
what ones do you use?
|
I an so sorry to hear you are suffering from this vicious cycle also. I understand what it is like to have constipation and diarrhea. It sounds more common than I thought.
I have had numerous colonoscopies but not anymore! My primary md orders Cologuard, which is a home kit stool specimen you mail in. It is probably not as effective as a colonoscopy to detect colon cancer or precancerous cells, however, it is better than nothing to evaluate you. The fear of the unknown can be so much pressure. So maybe have one colonoscopy to put your mind at ease, and then after this baseline test, use the cologuard as a possible alternative in the future. Diverticulosis could also be a culprit. Colonoscopy will find these little pockets in our bowl and diet can be modified if needed. I have had IBS most of my life. Medicine is such an imperfect science. Guess work? Yup... Stool softness, mirlax, suppositories, enemas, prescription meds, OTC meds... It is such a delicate balance. i try to eat a variety of protein, veg, fruit and dairy. I know which food I must not eat and moderation is the key. Right now I feel I could burst. TMI! I hope you find balance with your bowels. |
thank you so much

Lots of cheese can be constipating.
Fiber is the first-line script for constipation. It bulks up stool and helps it travel more easily through the intestines. It's not a bad idea to take some in conjunction with your regular regiment. They make it in lots of forms, including gummies now. I used to take lactulose, which is a prescription, for constipation many years ago and it worked well. Your GI may prescribe it, but there are also new meds on the market that people with IBS, or similar symptoms, have had good luck with. One is called Linzess, I forget the others. I hope that the mag. citrate works for you this time :hug::hug: |
I had a lot of prunes so I don't know if it was the prunes or the magnesium but I finally went a little. My stomach is still bothering me. I am not good for anything.
|
Bobby
I just take the Fiber pills from Walmart or Dollar general. Its the ones like metamucil. I don't like the powder so I take these instead. I also eat bran flakes when I'm in the mood or really constipated. But right now I'm not eating that much it just doesn't sound good. Donna :grouphug::hug: |
I am still waking up every morning with a stomach ache. I see the doctor on Wednesday. I just took a zantax. I have been going to bed before nine. Right now I feel a bit nauseated. I wonder if I have an ulcer too. I still can't figure out why my blood pressure went up so high. Now I am always scared to take it.
I have no idea what to eat. No more ice cream and cheeseI can't remember if I took my antidepressant. I don't think I will have anymore prunes. It was a nightmare yesterday. I was so uncomfortable. I kept on running to the bathroom. There is no quality of life. I keep on buying tops from ebay and I am really worried about money. |
I just bought probiotics
|
Please Bobby, try to hang in there. I understand how difficult bathroom problems can be, but trust me, it could be worse... (((HUGS)))
I'm glad that you are going to the GI if taking a whole bottle of mag. citrate is not making you go to the BR. And it is conceivable that you have an ulcer after many months of the stomach problems that you have been having. But there are prescription medications that can help with that :hug::hug: If you are waking up with stomach pains, try to eat something light shortly after you wake up. If you have an ulcer, that may make your belly feel better. Something like applesauce or toast would be good, but really anything light should do. I would stay away from chocolate and anything high in acid like citrus fruits and tomatoes/tomato products like ketchup. Those things really get to me. I don't see any reason why you should stop eating ice cream unless you want to lose weight. Adding more vegetables and foods with fiber into your diet could help with your constipation, but I don't think you should worry too much about what you are eating until you see the GI and consult him about it :hug::hug: I hope that you feel better (((HUGS))) |
I want to lose weight. The prunes and the magnesium citrate haven't stopped working. I didn't have any laxatives last night but I am STILL GOING.I looked up ulcer symptoms and don't think I have one. I met Stella this morning and she is going to send me a link on enzymes. Maybe the probiotics will help big time. I think I am just going to have frozen blueberries and maybe one more cup of coffee. Now one of my cuff monitors doesn't work and it has new batteries. Then second one didn't work at first but then gave me a great reading. I will have robert check it out. I really don't feel like eating anything. The depakote really started my stomachs besides making me gain six or seven pounds in three weeks. I did have stomach aches before that when I was under so much stress when Pudge stopped eating and I was also trying to find a new pdoc on medicare. when Pudge was okay my stomach aches stopped
until the psychiatrists brought me way down on klonopin and added depakote |
I am having lemon juice. It is supposed to be good for the stomach besides many other things
|
Bobby
#1 please stop trying to change everything right now. Wait till you see the new doctor. Only reason is because everytime you change something, you cant tell what is working and what isn't. ANd honestly it takes more than a few days for things to work. Next if the prunes and the other thing is still working, then I'd maybe think about eating the special diet, I can't remember exactly what it is: But a couple things are Rice, and bananas, and I know toast is good too. Maybe this will slow down the problems. And it also should help the problems with your stomach hopefully. Now if you want to work on drinking I'm going to suggest you drink just maybe one thing. Something you find that is soothing to your stomach. And I'd still keep drinking the coffee if its something that feels good to you. Donna :grouphug: |
good advice. Yesterday or the day before I had too many prunes and I kept on going, now I am afraid of them. I might
have irritable bowel syndrome -the type that causes constipation bloating and gas, I keep on researching since I don't usually feel well. I am a diabetic so I stay away from bread and rice. |
As usual I wake up very depressed and after I take my antidepressant and IT WORKS. the aleve helps my lower back pain. the aleve p.m. helps me sleep. I am definitely getting enough sleep. So far the magnesium caplets haven't worked today. I think God for everything even the constipation. I keep on worrying that I have colon cancer because of the constipation and the bloating and gas. I am not anxious. The 2mg of klonopin in the morning and at night really help. I might see Stella later.
|
I had a nice time with Stella. we had Indian food. we invited a guy who turned out to be Indian. He was so bright and nice. we spoke for over an hour. My stomach is so bloated. I wound up being so nauseated that as soon as I got home I threw up a lot.
|
Bobby
I hope that helps you feel better. I'm glad otherwise it sounds like you had a good time. Donna :grouphug: |
i did really have a nice time. My stomach bothered me the rest of the day and during the night. It is finally beginning to feel better, Stella got cramps. Robert came over to help with the blood monitor cuff. We thought it was probably too small so I ordered another one. Danny bit through his leash.. I just ordered him a lot of chew toys. My pulse is so high. He helped me with my new cell phone. My short term memory is so bad that I don't remember how to start it. My air conditioner won't cool. I hope the building gets me a new one. What a mess. My antidepressant is working!
|
Bobby
I sure hope your building gets you a new air conditioner too. Glad your antidepressant is working. Also I'm glad you had a good time. And Robert and you figured out the cuff is to small. Also :grouphug:that you got the dog some chew toys. Now see I really know how important those are. But its really odd Derrick's dog Doby only likes stuffed chewies. So we have to buy lots of cheap chewies. And he likes a specific kind of tug type toy. So we go out and find that one. Donna |
I'm glad you had such a good time with Stella, but it sounds like you had a case of mild food poisoning :hug::hug:
Not going every day doesn't mean that you are constipated. How often are you going? I hope that everything works out with your BP monitors and your cellphone, and I hope that your maintenance man either fixes or replaces that AC ASAP. I'm so happy that your antidepressant is working for you! :) |
I don't go unless I take a laxative.Right now my stomach is hurting
|
The are supposed to get me a working air conditioner. Last time it was new
|
When do you go to the GI doctor.
I hope they can help you figure this out. Donna :grouphug: |
wednesday at 11. I just had a cupcake and when I ate it my stomach didn't bother me. Most of the time when I eat something my stomach doesn't bother me.when I wake up in the morning with no food my stomach bothers me.
I will tell him that. I decided to buy more prunes because I think they did help. Now I am fighting with Stella again. She believes in the medicinemedium or whatever he is called. She has been telling me to have celery blended every day and said don't be lazy. Well I looked on the internet about celery and at the end of one article it said don't drink it if you are on a blood thinner. I am because of the stroke. she said i didn't need the blood thinner. I asked her if she wanted me to bleed to death. I told I feel so sorry for the ignorant people who listen to him and believe in magic. I said he is very dangerous |
I just got up a little while ago. I took 2 aleve pm last night. the antidepressant hasn't kicked in yet. I got on the scale and I weighed two more pounds. My stomach didn't bother me this morning. I am in a bad place. I am still spending too much money. I ordered a new mouse because I can't find the cover to the old one which dropped and I had a lot of trouble with wired mouse. I am afraid I am starting to have cognitive difficulties besides the repercussions from the stroke. they are coming to check my air conditioner. I am having trouble spelling. The antidepressant still not working and the phillips hasn't worked.the super just came up. extremely bright and precious. I am getting a new air conditioner in a couple of days. that is such a relief. we talked about health issues. He has to inject himself for diabetes. He has stomach trouble so I gave him a box of ginger tea and lavender tea. He can't take metformin so his insurance company made it possible to take another med at a good price but costs originally 1200 a month. His blood pressure and pulse are all right.
|
Sounds like you are worrying alot this morning.
(((((HUGS)))) bizi I took the PM part last night too. (generic benadryl, allergy pill $6 for 100 pills) I slept well thank goodness. Tapering off the klonipin is going ok. I am not taking the zyprexa any more. (I still take 80mg of geodon twice a day. Down to .25 mg of klonipin just at night. bizi |
