I woke up with such an extreme stomach ache. I called the g.i. doctor about the effects of the laxative he gave me and diabetes and he reassured me that it was okay but instead of two tablespoons he told me to have one teaspoon. Obviously it is not working. I will try the regular dosage of two tablespoons and see if that works. Only in the U.S. is it a prescription drug.
Robert loved the toys I bought for Danny and I bought more and he told me Danny loved stuffed toys so I bought some of those too. bobby |

Sometimes the Lactulose causes cramping and pain, but that is because it's pushing things thru. When I get relief, the cramping and pain stops. Blue |
that is what I am now taking. I took four teaspoons a little while ago. I have to find a tablespoon. I JUST WENT! i think maybe it is working. Oh wow. I am on so many pills that I think I have IBS. The cramping and pain just stopped. I am so excited. That would take care of a huge problem. It is so awful to be uncomfortable. I am so glad it helps you!
I just started another enjoyable book. fondly bobby |
bobby, am glad that it worked for you.
a lot of my clients take that with success! Have a great weekend! love bizi |
you have a great weekend too!

stomach really bothering me. just had the laxative. I will give the laxative some more days. Then I make another appointment with the g.i. doctor and will probably have an endoscopy. Listened to Josh Groban all night. 129 songs. now listening to another album of his. dreamt of my dead boyfriend and wondered what was keeping him. then realized he was dead. unpleasant.

stomach feeling better. I don't know if it was the prunes or laxative or both. I don't seem to be very gassy. I have to stop drinking ginger tea. I just read that it isn't good to have if you are on a blood thinner.
Yesterday I got a call from a close friend that her a husband died. I love her but rarely see her since she spends most of the time in the Hamptons. She told me her husband of forty years died in her arms of a massive heart attack. We talked about it. He loved her young dog and now the doggie is sleeping on his pillow. She said we will probably get together in two weeks. she wants to meet Abby who she helped me get through a breeder. She loves animals much more than she likes people. I think she has ten kitty cats now. She used to have a shop where she sold kitty cats and gave away older ones. the place was full of cat items. If she didn't like the potential buyer she wouldn't sell them a cat. I adopted my Snowball from her and she paid over a thousand dollars when he had a prolapsed colon and needed an operation to fix it. I would call her constantly crying because he was so sickly and after the operation he wouldn't eat. She kept on almost yelling at me that I could save him and I had keep on force feeding him. He had the deepest soul and comforted Hammy when he was dying by rubbing against him and head butting him. When Morgy died Snowy went to the terrace window for a month looking for Morgy. He had never gone to that window sill. I gave her a gorgeous jeweled gold bracelet and to wear it for Snowy. Once she gave me a 1500 dollar Aby kitten who was so gorgeous and affectionate but she picked on my older Aby who had had an inner ear infection and after that didn't have good balance. Aby had to go under a chair to protect herself from the kitten. I didn't think it was fair to Aby so I sadly had to give the kitten back to Joyce. She arranged so I could buy my present Aby from a breeder and she helped me adopt Pudge, a tortoiseshell Persian who had been a show cat but couldn't breed anymore since she almost lost her life giving birth to a litter. I bought precious Yuki from her who was a petite white Persian who had such a great nature and was beautiful. Yesterday I told Joyce how I loved her and she brought me more happiness than anybody in the world! She told me she loved me. |
snowball had the worse case of feline herpes and had another prolapsed colon. He was a white Persian with a fang and a crooked nose which finally straightened out when he grew. growing up I had another cat named socrates who almost took my eye out. Later I had Pumpkins, half aby and half himalyan wno used to get under the overs at night and sucked my ear. I also had precious Tui who was again so good natured and was a himalyan

Hazel had been throwing up for a couple of days...we think she got into something. We were going to take her to the vet but decided to wait and see how she progressed the next day. We had put her food up(which just about killed hattie!). Next day she seemed better no more throw up. So we did not have to take her in. And she was back to her old/young self.
Got a love our pets! bizi |
I don't feel to well again. am making peppermint tea. I just cancelled my dentist's appointment for Wednesday. I only had soup for lunch and I am afraid to have anything for dinner. That laxative supposedly works in 24 to 48 hours.
I think the prunes made me go. I am no longer taking magnesium. |
Bobby
Sounds like you are doing well, keep working on the laxitive. Also I'm not positive but I believe you had said, you thought your antidepressant had stopped working and needed to be upped. So you were going to ask the pdoc to up it. I am not good at looking back. But that might be why he upped it. I would give it some time if it doesn't work then go back. Donna :grouphug: |
I don't really remember talking to him about it. I was working at the lower dosage I am now making fennel tea. Maybe that will work.
I just had peppermint tea. "However, the side effect of high fiber is bloating and gas so eating too many prunes may cause some intestinal discomfort, especially if you are not used to a diet high in fiber." I just threw out the rest of the prunes. the laxative I am taking now side effects are Side Effects Gas, bloating, burping, stomach rumbling/pain, nausea, and cramps may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. |
i just got two bottles of probiotics that got great recommendations. one supposedly is good for ibs and the other for digestion

Sam, my 12 month old Ragdoll came to me with significant neurological issues. He has Feline Hyperthesia (touching him sets off an attack so he is on Gabapentin to calm down the nerves), he also has Nystagmous/Seizures and now a bladder condition. He does not have bladder stones or crystals but he cries when passing urine. First he was put on Prazosin for the spasms but the side effect was that it relaxed his bladder too much and he was dripping urine everywhere, so had to stop that. He's now getting Cosequin in the hopes it will help with inflammation. The Gabapentin is causing constipation (he's on a strictly wet food diet now), so he has two water fountains and lots of water bowls to encourage him to drink water for the constipation and some Laxatone and Pumpkin. Due to his Hyperthesia, he does not like to be touched or he nips. The county came in and shut down the breeder claiming she was fronting for a cat mill, so that is probably where Sam came from. When he first came home, he could not walk across the room to me, he had to walk along the walls to get anywhere. He still has some very peculiar behaviors, we think that came from living in a tiny cage, unhealthy conditions and abuse. He's been very difficult to bond with. He won't sleep on my bed at night, only directly under my bed on the side I sleep on. He won't cuddle or sit in my lap. I encourage him with all kinds of enrichment activities and when he is doing that, he has happy eyes. We are still discovering all his health issues. He had to have alot of teeth pulled at the age of 4 months due to severe gingivitis. I have had a pet behaviorist helping me with his odd behaviors, but he's a year now and we can only hope he will settle down someday. Blue |
I am so very sorry. I bet he will become your favorite because he has so needy and has so many problems. That is so much stress on you! How do you deal with it

It can be very stressful and at times, I have to step outside my apartment for a break. He's not easily bondable since he doesn't want to be touched most days, but I have hung in here last 9 months with him and I am determined to see this thru with him. I had to open up a GoFundMe account once to help get him emergency care, that whole thing was interesting. It's not his fault the way he is and he's still a kitten at heart, so doing the best I can. He may not live a long life, but I am trying to give him the best quality of life I can. Thank you for understanding Bobby ((( appreciation hugs ))) Blue |
I am certain he is given by you the best care possible.

Bobby,
It's difficult having to monitor this stuff. I hope that the G.I. issues settle down. M |
thanks. I just looked up my blood pressure medication and my symptoms were not included. This morning my stomach started to ache at two a.m. I took a rolaid and that helped a little with the gas. I made a cup of coffee which usually helps but this time it didn't. It looks like the new laxative is working. I will give it another day to see that it is working and then make another appointment with the g.i. doctor. My stomach sort of feels acidic but antacids have no effect. I just ordered something for lactose intolerance but I don't think that is the problem. I have no idea how long this has been going on.

Have you tried a proton pump inhibitor such as Nexium to help with the stomach issues? Look it up and make sure it's compatible with all the other meds you are taking and ask your GI doc about this. This is an OTC drug. I take Nexium occasionally. Blue |
thanks. I will ask him about it. He will probably want me to have an endoscopy. It is not heartburn.
bobby |
bobby, maybe it is time for an endoscopy to find out what is going on with your stomach.
((((HUGS))))) love bizi |
I asked him last time for one and he said wait. I think the laxative is working but I will wait two more days to see and then make an appt to see him. I have spent so much time on the net looking for symptoms and relief from my stomach and gas. Also once I have gone to the bathroom I feel as if I still have to go but can't. So far it just seems like it is IBS
love bobby |
Bobby
It could take a couple weeks to a month to get a complete relief of the problem. Especially since its been going on for so long. I would give it a couple weeks at least. Try doing the same thing for a couple weeks only adding things you do when it gets really bad. I had a bad issue once, and then I had a complete reverse not a clue why. I was using nexium when it happened. But I know that in the case of my husband he hasn't had the same luck. I eat bland foods, but not because of this stuff but because hot and spicy I really don't like. Donna :grouphug: |
wow that was great. I am not sure what to eat. I see on the net what not to eat. Yesterday I had hard boiled eggs. I plan to have them today. I ordered a lot of kiwi. My friend who has digestive issues says they really help.

The thing is every person is different. So you need to start on what sounds good. If its just ice cream then try that. If its say mashed potatoes, try that. I realize some of the things that sound good, have in the past caused problems. But because you are having good results with the laxative. Its possible in a small amount those things can be eaten. So give it a try. I would then try to eat small meals say, 6 times a day. No I don't mean food all six times. Like I seem to be on a kick of peanut butter and crackers right now. It settles my stomach, so I buy a container of 8 little packages for $1.oo, at dollar general and eat a package of 4. When my stomach says I need something to eat. It might be two hours after I ate breakfast. This morning my breakfast, was two little debbie chocolate donuts, because that was what I wanted. And then at 12, noon because I needed something, I just ate two crackers with peanut butter, because I had two left from late last night. So I will eat my lunch around 1pm probably. But it will be a weird lunch because I'm in the mood for cereal, so I'll probably eat that. Donna :grouphug::hug: |
thank you. I love peanut butter and mashed potatoes. Since my stomach is always bothering me I think I will take advantage to lose weight. I will also drink vegetable soup.

A study conducted by Taipei Medical University and published in "Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition" in 2010 found that patients with irritable bowel syndrome with chronic constipation had increased and quicker bowel movements after eating two kiwis per day for four weeks than patients who took placebos.
I just ordered a lot of kiwis. I don't seem to have much gas now but the laxative still isn't working. I will call the doctor today if nothing happens. I read somewhere that probiotics can take two weeks to start working. I just bought some lactaid just in case. I just bought a big storage container for all my tunics. That might make things easier. I have been spending so much money and I think my ac bill will be 400 dollars. I am so stressed and scared but not depressed. I will try another cup of coffee. I am on gabapentin and didn't know it was a mood stabilizer. I have been so unstable. |
I went a little finally and just ordered some suppositories. I won't call the doctor.
|
Sometimes it takes a while for your system to go back to normal after you have been using large amounts of laxatives for a long time. Your symptoms may get better just from stopping the OTC laxatives :hug::hug:
Lactulose doesn't always produce a BM every day. When was the last time you went? Anywhere from 3 times a day to 3 times a week is considered "normal." I hope the kiwis help with your IBS symptoms. They sound promising  Gabapentin is an anti-seizure medication that is used for neurological pain, but it can be used off-label as a mood stabilizer, but usually as an adjunct, not alone. It doesn't work for everyone. I used to take it in VERY high doses to treat my neuro pain from the MS, but it stopped working for that, so I stopped taking it. I take it in a MUCH lower dose as a mood stabilizer now, and it works well for me. It's the only med we can move up and down to treat milder episodes of hypo/mania because I'm maxed out on everything else. Why do you say you are unstable? I thought that the Aplenzin was working well? (((HUGS))) |

Which kind of suppositories did you order? Dulcolax or glycerin? |
Did you have diarrhea or a formed stool?
bizi |
Today was the first time the laxative worked a litttle .Fleet Glycerin Laxative Suppositories, Adult - 24 ea.
$3.60 from walmart. I went a few days ago when I ate a lot of prunes. Then I threw the rest out because I couldn't keep on doing that because of my diabetes and weight. Aplenzin is working really well. Again I don't know why he doubled the dose. Even with all the klonopin I am taking I feel so anxious and jumpy and out of control. I have been having a hard time reading. I thought I needed a mood stabilizer because I am so off the wall. Then another doctor wants me to take injections for my cholesterol. I can't take anymore side effects. I am rejecting it. I still don't know why my blood pressure went over 180. It is now controlled with the double increase of medicine. I told the doctor's office that I won't take the injections. I think this is the first time the laxative worked. The stools were formed that there very little. I can't stop buying. I bought Danny so many toys. He is an aggressive chewer. Now I just decided to see if there are leashes that he can't destroy. One day when he was over he bit through his leash and Robert had to improvise with the chewed through leash. I just bought one. I hope Robert likes it. Thank you so much Bobby |
It wasn't diarrhea.

I just made an appointment with another cardiologist that Zeynep recommended on aug 14 at four. The nurse from the other cardiologist tried to pressure me into having the injectable cholesterol medication Praluent. she said I was at a very high risk for heart attack or another stroke. I felt like giving up.
Then Zeynep said that her cardiologist is very nice and not drastic and get another opinion. I will bring my papers to him. My life has been so painful. Now the antidepressant suddenly stopped working |
Bobby
I think its more that the nurse was pressuring you that the antideppressant didn't work. So take it that way and wait and try to see if it works again tomorrow. I think its more the stress of the things going on. Donna :grouphug: |
I think you are right. I have red wine at home and I am going to start drinking two glasses a day.
A few studies have found that people who drink alcohol in moderation have lower rates of heart disease, and might even live longer than those who abstain. Alcohol has also been tied to a lower risk of blood clots and decreased levels of inflammation markers. Many believe that the main benefit of alcohol comes from its ability to raise HDL cholesterol levels (the “good” type that helps sweep cholesterol deposits out of your arteries and protects against a heart attack). In particular, red wine might offer the greatest benefit for lowering heart disease risk and death because it contains higher levels of natural plant chemicals -- such as resveratrol -- that have antioxidant properties and might protect artery walls. Red wine was much more efficient than white in inhibiting cholesterol oxidation – 50 times more efficient to be more precise. I just had two glasses and I am a bit high. i have the same chemistry as my father who was an alcoholic and said drinking made him happy. |

I just read that irritable bowel syndrome if that is what I have can cause indigestion which I usually wake with every morning. The gas is back now.
I am just so unhappy. I was going to meet Zeynep for lunch but am going to have to cancel because I don't feel well. I am going to make some chamomille tea and drink some lemon juice with water. I haven't taken my antidepressant yet. I hope it works. Robert is coming over tonite to pick up another stuffed toy and possibly the leash. He asked if he could pay for it and I said no that it was my pleasure and makes me feel good. I really do like giving. I haven't gone yet. I had two kiwi last night Bobby Chamomile tea can help to keep your heart healthy by lowering blood pressure and levels of bad cholesterol, known as LDL cholesterol. Matricaria Recutita is the botanical term given to this herb. Chamomile tea is a good herbal remedy for calming down a person during the manic phase of bipolar disorder. This herb is effective in healing the mind and it can lead to alleviation of both depression and mania in a person diagnosed with this mental health disorder. |
