Bobby, I'm glad that you found out that there's a connection between Aleve and the pm component (Benadryl) in the Advil Pm on blood pressure. I hope stopping those meds helps with managing your blood pressure

Bizi, I think that restarting the Zyprexa sounds like a good idea. I think you will sleep better

mymorgy 06-22-2019 08:32 AM

found a new author anne gracie. I am reading one of her books now and at one point couldn't stop laughing. won't take my blood pressure for 18 hours to eliminate aleve from my system. If it is the culprit then maybe my new bp medication will be too high. also ordered cookie

mymorgy 06-22-2019 01:30 PM

146 89 93
it is better. I don't know if it was from the increase in the prescription drug or because I am no longer taking the aleves and the allergy pills. I still feel very anxious but relieved and not depressed. I have been spending more money. I just bought a toaster and I am going to start having egg sandwiches with tomatoes. I am going over the cecilia's at five. I am almost finished with the book. I spent 35 dollars on 13 more books by the author. I am out of control

bizi 06-22-2019 08:09 PM

Oh I love egg sandwiches. real tomatoes and helmans mayo make a great one also!
bizi

mymorgy 06-22-2019 11:49 PM

that is what I am going to start making

mymorgy 06-23-2019 05:32 AM

my blood pressure is dangerously high again this morning. It is 180 105 98. I am so afraid of having a paralyzing stroke or heart attack or death. I am on the new medication. I wonder how long the new medication takes. It just went down to 160 89 99. I feel like crying but I can't. will see the cardiologist on wednesday.

mymorgy 06-23-2019 09:28 AM

it just went down lower. I have constantly been listening to an album by Josh Groban. I have been doing this for maybe three weeks. I had a nice time over cecilia's. Her boyfriend had colon cancer. She still believes that since I have no blood or pains I don't have it. My anxiety is still through the roof. 2mg of klonopin twice a day is not helping. I forgot if I mentioned the g.i doctor gave me samples of a laxative. I don't know if it working yet. I am still taking phillips magnesium. the antidepressant is working a little.I am so tired

Rain shower 06-23-2019 09:56 AM

I hope the blood pressure lowers now that you may have found the culprit. Good job!

I have difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. Sleep is when our bodies heal, among other things. I will be speaking with my MD, as everything I have dried is not working.

Hope you have a great Sunday.

mymorgy 06-23-2019 10:36 AM

aplenzin really works for me for depression.
now i wonder if that is why my blood pressure has also risen Now I don't know whether or recommend it or not
reatment with APLENZIN can result in elevated blood pressure and hypertension. Assess blood pressure before initiating treatment with APLENZIN, and monitor periodically during treatment. The risk of hypertension is increased if APLENZIN is used concomitantly with MAOIs or other drugs that increase dopaminergic or noradrenergic activity [see CONTRAINDICATIONS].

OhKay 06-23-2019 12:32 PM

You should talk with the cardiologist about your antidepressant and the possibility about it effecting your BP. You may not have to stop it since it has helped you so much. He may be able to work around it, but IDK because of your history of stroke :hug::hug:

180/105 IS dangerously high. If you keep getting readings like that, please go to the ER (((HUGS)))

I’m sorry you are so anxious :hug::hug:

Cecilia is not a MD. I’m glad you are getting the colonoscopy

I’m glad you had such a good time at her place tho! :)

I’m happy you found a new author you like! :)

Dmom3005 06-23-2019 01:41 PM

Bobby

Question, and idea both.

first if you are taking your blood pressure before you take your
medicine in the morning. Please don't. I used too and then
realized that it was high because the medicine was out of my
system. So I started waiting at least 30 minutes, usually one hour.
And It was better.

Donna:grouphug::hug:

mymorgy 06-23-2019 01:56 PM

my caratoid (sp) was clogged 99.9 per cent and was operated on. The first operation they tried to put a stent in but it was too clogged.that probably caused the stroke.
right now I feel rotten. all the aleve and allergy pills also raised my blood pressure. I was just put on more medication for my bp by my gp and then he doubled it when my g.i. said to raise it. I was shocked and terrified when I took my first reading today. Then it went down so I didn't go to the emergency room. I feel so jumpy. I will take it later again today. I have been mostly napping

mymorgy 06-23-2019 01:59 PM

thanks for the advice Donna. I take the medicine first and then almost immediately take my blood pressure.

mymorgy 06-23-2019 02:35 PM

it was just 164 87 92 . i was afraid to take it.

bizi 06-23-2019 02:52 PM

bobby, I had a bacon egg lettuce and tomato with mayo sandwich on rye bread for lunch and it was delicious!
bizi

Rain shower 06-23-2019 03:58 PM

I love fresh tomatoes on toast with mayo. I need to get tomatoes planted. Our spring was so cold and wet we decided to wait.

I hard boil eggs for snacks for the week. No more than two a day or so.

Also make sure you sit for 3 to 4 minutes with feet on floor for taking BP.

mymorgy 06-23-2019 04:13 PM

thanks for the information. I eat a lot of hard boiled eggs. They don't upset my stomach.
bobby

Dmom3005 06-23-2019 10:31 PM

Yes, good reminder Rain, Bobby remember also that I have problems
when my legs are on the floor even getting my blood pressure to
read the first, sometimes the second and third times.

So I usually take it sitting with my legs up. I am not sure what
to say. But I think the bottom and the heart beat if I have that
one right are both good.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

mymorgy 06-24-2019 05:15 AM

I have been told you have to have your feet flat on the ground and you shouldn't talk.
156 90 95. I think that is still too high because my gp put me on medicine when it was 160. I woke up with a stomach ache. I put a wet towel on my head last night to try to cool off because I haven't gotten my new air conditioner yet.
I am hoping I don't spend money today.

bizi 06-24-2019 06:22 AM

Will wait with you while you wonder when you will get your new air conditioner.
Can you call to see when it will be delivered?
It is really hot here....
((((HUGS)))))
bizi

mymorgy 06-24-2019 07:02 AM

at first I was told in two days but then I think I was told on Tuesday. I wonder if my cardiologist will raise my blood pressure medicine or maybe find something wrong with my heart. I don't know how to control my spending. I don't want another drug. I will finally try to use by stationary bike today for a few minutes. I have been so out of control I haven''t been helping myself at all. I am so flawed.

bizi 06-24-2019 07:09 AM

You suffer daily....this is not flawed.
You are not flawed.

I feel sorry for your suffering.

Make your blood pressure readings accurate | Health Insurance ...
healthplans.providence.org/.../blood-pressure
Make sure the patient has both feet flat on the floor. This means avoiding taking blood pressure on an exam table, from which a patient's legs will dangle. Dangling one's legs requires muscular activity, which can increase blood pressure. Ask the patient to relax, as much as possible, and make sure he or she isn't talking when you take the reading.

Dmom3005 06-24-2019 05:44 PM

Very interesting. Wonder why the doctors offices don't do
that too.

But I know it really doesn't matter I just know that I can't
seem to get a reading with my feet on the ground.
period.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 06-25-2019 10:43 AM

At my doctors' offices they have you sit in regular chairs to take vitals before you sit on the exam tables now.
It is strange that you can't get a reading with your feet on the ground, Donna. I have never heard of that. What do you do? Take your BP with your legs up on a table/ottoman?

I'm glad that Donna told you to wait until 30minutes to an hour after you take your medication to take your blood pressure. When do you see your cardiologist?

I'm sorry that you are overspending. I try really hard to distract myself when I'm hypo/manic and I start getting strong urges to buy tons of s***. Usually I will clean (but I buy anyway). Maybe you try to go back to your book? IDK. I know it's hard :hug::hug:

Love to you today, Bobby (((HUGS)))

mymorgy 06-25-2019 11:00 AM

i see the cardiologist who I really like tomorrow at 10:20. He is really spiffy. We once talked about coffee and he said when he operates he only drinks espresso so he doesn't have to go during the operation lol. His male assistant is Russian and such a flirt. I love it.
I am reading again and still listening to josh Groban . I am drinking a lot of hibiscus tea starting yesterday. I read that three cups a day lowers blood pressure.
love
Bobby

mymorgy 06-25-2019 11:51 AM

i think the blood pressure medicine is working.

Dmom3005 06-25-2019 03:45 PM

I will be trying to take my blood pressure again soon.

I haven't yet because I can only take on the left
side and with my arm in sling and pain it wasn't
possible.

mymorgy 06-26-2019 05:03 AM

I woke up so depressed. the antidepressant hasn't kicked in yet. I still haven't gotten my ac yet. Now that I am not taking aleve I am having more trouble walking. The new laxative linesse is working a little. Hard to go but no more diarrhea..
I am reading a book I like. abby loves her fish treats. she has been acting so adorable. Pudge slept with me for a while last night. Last night I took another bath because I am so hot without the ac.
just read that you should take the laxative in the morning and I have been taking it at night.
I think the antidepressant just kicked in

OhKay 06-26-2019 07:29 AM

Linzess is supposed to be a very good med. I tried it, but it didn't work for my type of constipation. I'm happy that. it seems to be starting to work for you :)

I'm glad that it seems like the increase in your BP med is working, too! :)
I hope that you have a good visit with your cardiologist today. Don't flirt too much! ;)

I really enjoy some of my doctors. My GI is really adorable. He is a flirt, and gets a kick out of me.

If your maintenance man does not get you your AC soon, I would remind him that you are elderly (I'm sorry for calling you that), and cannot tolerate the heat, so they need to get on the ball!!!

It was nice to read about the kitties! :):):)

mymorgy 06-26-2019 07:41 AM

it is so much fun flirting, especially when you are 75. I will remind the super again about the ac. I am still using phillip caplets but tomorrow I will take the linesse i8n the morning with water. I am embarrassed but it was so wonderful to see solid stools after all this time. I am really enjoying reading carla kelly. hope to finish the book soon.
love
bobby
i just called down to the doorman and said to tell the super I am old, have diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Rain shower 06-26-2019 12:15 PM

Bobby. I worry the heat will make you sick. Can you call the super directly if no response by morning? This is unacceptable, unless you can get some kind of cross breeze in your apartment.

Linzess has helped many people.

I like my primary care doctor but not many others. I have seen so many doctors and unfortunately only two keepers.

I listen to Josh Groban and have read Carla Kelley. Her regency romances and short stories. She has written over 40 books if I recall. Canadian Tenors are great also!

Suttle Flirting is great fun!

mymorgy 06-26-2019 03:03 PM

i just spent two hours in theair conditioned lobby. I told him I was nauseated by the heat and I am not well and I am old. I went to the cardiologist and my blood pressure was 133. He said everything except my cholesterol looked fine. He told me to go back to the other cardiologist to have her try again for a new medication that I would inject once a month. Last time insurance turned it down. Just bought 7 more books by carla kelly. almost through with the one I am reading. I am also feeling a little dizzy.

Dmom3005 06-26-2019 07:55 PM

Bobby

The dizziness could easily be the air conditioning in your apartment.

I would let them know that you need the air conditioner immediately.

If not they need to get you something to give the apartment air
immediately till they can give the air conditioner too you.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

bizi 06-26-2019 08:48 PM

Just getting caught up.
Sorry about your AC. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.
bizi

mymorgy 06-27-2019 12:32 AM

I will stay in the lobby. i had strawberries. i don't think they agree with me.
i bought an otc pain killer for my lower back. it says it doesn't affect blood pressure. i feel so rotten

bizi 06-27-2019 07:47 AM

I am so sorry bobby that you still don't have ac....good idea to stay in the lobby. Hoping that you got some sleep last night.

i am going down to the lobby now. I feel nauseated and I have a stomach ache

Rain shower 06-27-2019 09:50 AM

Bobby Thinking of you. I am glad you have good books to read. Might be kind of fun to people watch as a distraction. When I used to travel for work, when I was not running to make a connection, I would get lost people watching at the air port. Almost missed a flight once. The longest I was stuck in airport in a snow storm was 15 hours. No hotel available at the airport (even for 300$) and snow so deep not good to travel.
It is already 84 in your neck of the woods. Only 77 here. Please drink plenty of water or electrolyte beverages.

My tummy has been upset also. I take antacids, Pepcid, pepto bismol and I have percription zofran, if all else fails. These can cause constipation so I have to take stool softners and mirlax. Plus pain pills that have same issues. Sad but true. I really try to take as little as possible because everything has risk and comes at a cost.

OhKay 06-27-2019 09:55 AM

I wish I could speak to your super... I would give him an earful!

When my AC went out a couple of years ago at another apartment complex, I was f'ing miserable and got tired of waiting for a new one to come. So, I called the office and explained how the heat effects people with MS. I told them I could get a note from my doctor within hours, but that turned out to be unnecessary... SOMEHOW they found a brand-new AC for me a couple of hours later.

That's a great report from the cardiologist! :)

And I'm happy that you are getting good results from the Linzess! I can appreciate finally seeing formed stool :)
