Red face

HI wendy,
so when we reach a certain age is this acne that we are getting...is it really rosacea?
yoiu use straight alcohol on your face? That sounds really harsh...
sorry tohear that you are dealing with skin issues too.

HI - I have dry skin - the worst, yuck.

But I always see the ad's and the product line in Walgreens/ CVS for acne/oily skin, it begins with a P....like Provi - I can't remember the exact name, it seems to be popular. It's even on TV ads.

I don't know if that would help, I will try to think of the name, or maybe someone here knows what I am talking about.

I take Vit E. I also use all types of moisturizes, but that is due to my dry skin - hair/face and body.

thanks nikko,
I was using the generic formula of proactin.....called acne free.
It has benzol peroxide in it.
the cleanser was not getting all of my make up off so wanted to switch and I still was breaking out so thought try something all together new.

these products have salycitic acid in them and now am using a moisturizer too which is brand new for me.
I wonder if anyone has the perfect skin type?

I think Aveeno products are the best. I have very dry skin and I have that among other products. They work for both dry and oily if I am right.

When I was a kid, my skin was sooooooooo dry, my mom would give me oatmeal baths, I believe it was one of the Aveeno products.

My dermotoligist told me to buy Cetaphil creme, which I did, but there are other products I like better.

I just posted this under another thread, but thought maybe you might need to know too.

Oh Bizi, I meant to tell you... From your picture and the tan that you have, I don't think you have rosacea. It usually affects people of Celtic or Eastern Europeon origins (I believe) and/or people that burn but don't tan. Rosacea is like an overall redness (flushing) to the skin and there are certain conditions that can cause flare-ups and rosacea acne is a bit different from regular acne.

Bizi,
My meds make my skin oily and very acne prone. The proactive skin care line has been awesome for me. You can get it reasonable online. The skin wash gets my make up off my face although I use their makeup removing clothes for my eyes. The moisturizer is spf15 and fantastic. You have to get the real thing because the generic does not work! I also use bare minerals id makeup which you can get at Sephora or online. It covers your face well with a thin layer of powder and stays all day. I even sleep in it and still Im staying realatively acne free as long as I use the proactive like its advertised. The skin wash is also the exfoliator but you can buy one from proactive as well.

Good luck with the other products maybe they will help but if they dont try the proactive.
