Default I need a Job

If I am going to do what I would like to I will need a part time job. I hope to get a part time cashier job on the weekends in a furniture store. Wish me luck. I haven't worked since 1995 so it will be rather scary to work now.

Dear Befuddled,
'Sending luck and strength as you start something new.

Have you done cashier or customer service work in the past?
I remember ignoring whining and doing a lot of fake smiling -- they seemed like the most important skills for the job.

Work is good sometimes. It can give a bit of purpose to our days.

Hi Mari,

Yep, work does do us good. I sometimes do online surveys for a little cash and even though it's chicken scratch I still get excited when I earn a buck from doing one of them.

I see your up late like I am. I wish I could sleep early.

Thank you Donna, I picked up the application today and plan to take it back Tuesday so I might be able to get an interview. They are not hiring yet I am told but still the lady said they do hire from time to time.

Mari, I've always worked for the public before but I may be less patient now than when I was working. I am worried about this too now that I think of it.

Befuddled

You will be just fine. You seem to have lots of patience to me.
