Default salicylate: Okay I need some pratical help

Hi everyone. I am trying to read the book my fibromyalgia doctor. Recommended.

And its good, but the one thing it says I have to get rid of in my household
items I use has this ingredient in it.

Well the thing is I am having trouble with this. I need a dry skin lotiion immediately for my hands and feet. And I can't make heads or tails of
my things that are in the house.

The only thing I'm sure of is that I probably should stay away from aloe,
and scented things, which lots of mine are. So I wont touch those till
I figure out how to clear them.

Anyone know if aveeno, is okay. Mine is anti-itch cream but it works
to just sooth things. Which right now would work for my feet. I also
have something if I can find it that they gave me in the hospital
which I'm sure is okay. But its lost in my mess.

First things for my skin and shampoo, and bodywash that would be safe.

Then I'll be ready for food.

Can you help me.

Hi,
Are you using
Aveeno Anti-Itch Concentrated Lotion with Natural Colloidal Oatmeal ?

It looks pretty safe to me.

Here is a good web site.

Default Salicylate

Hi,
It's harder than it should be. I was googling around and finding confusion.

Apparently Salicylate is a sun screen. And apparently, it is not good for us.
It shows up in lots of things -- including food.

But I don't understand chemistry very well.

I guess your book explains things.

That Aveno sounds like something I could use Donna. Where do you buy it?

Barb

I either bought it at Walgreens, or some place like Meijers. I've had
it since I started getting my allergy shots. But I bought a couple
of cheaper anti-itch creams, that I'm sure I can't use now.

And am I really glad I kept this one for when it was really bad.
I hate spending the kind of money I did on this one. SO I kept
a cheaper one in my purse so if I lost it then it was okay.

I've lost about 5, and this one stays either at home. Or in like
suitcases. But right now and it may stay that way I'm not
getting the shots.

So I can use this, and money isn't a issue is it turns out he puts
me on this drug that I need to get this particular ingredient out
of me and what I use.

So Mari, those sites I appreciate, and yes its in lots of foods.

I'm worried because I read tea on the list, its not something
I'm going to be able to give up till we solve some of the cough
issues. So I've got to find something I like that I can drink in
the tea family.

I was to chicken to see if hot chocolate is in there.

Well I have to go visit my favorite hair salon.

I use just one kind of shampoo, its for very fine hair. I can't use it
anymore. I get it from the salon.

So I've got to go have her help me find something new.

But hopefully this will help with some of my problems.

Even though I've only washed my own hair once in like 2 months,
thanks to my asthma.

Default Zinc oxide for anti-itch

Hi,

-->> I use a generic diaper rash cream from the grocery store for itching because it is 40% zinc oxide. It works great.
The cream I use is white -- it works in areas covered by clothes.
(And zinc is good for some people with bipolar.)

But tonight I started looking up the inactive ingredients.

I think I need to find a new product because one of the ingredients is iffy.

According to the link I left above, Rite Aid has a zinc product that is safe.
http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/bro...r=webscore+INC
But no Rite Aids near me.

-->> I wonder how the tea tree products would work.

-->> I could call/go to the health food store near me and ask if they have any zinc creams. I will still have to check each ingredient.......can't trust the health food ingredients 100% either.

Default Right, can't be to careful

And thanks mari, I found three items I think might be safe for me.

I"m going to do some mroe research, and see if I can locate them

They aren't something I've ever heard of so its a long shot.

But you really gave me a place to start.

Which was what I needed. And the aveeno was helpful tonight.

I'm up because my coughing is keeping me up. And last night
I wheezed through my sleep. And knew it all night.

So I'm just chilling and enjoying till I finally can't stay awake

Donna,
Going through a list to change your personal care products takes work and effort. You are doing well.

I wouldn't miss tea. But chocolate might be hard. I can go without chocolate for a while, but I think if I had to "give it up" I might not be happy.

I hope that you get some sleep.
Take it easy.
