That sounds so strange to me. The further south we go in Australia, the closer we are to Antarctica!

Brrrr again

Congrats on getting your taxes done....ours are due after July 1st.

Hi,
It is 75 degrees right now. Isn't it neat that we can know totally useless info in the middle of the night?

Anyway, it will be 82 during the day on Sat -- a little cooler than normal for us.

We are enjoying the time before the tropical-type weather and rain starts.

The weather here has been mainly sunny the past few weeks but never hot. This is a lovely time of year, although the summer is also great.

I always need a few weeks like this before I start working in the garden again. The soil has got to be dry of course, but also the sun has got to get a chance to lift the end-of-dark-season low for me. I do love gardening and seeding plants and such. I will likely plant two fruit-trees this fall, the places where I want to put them have not been ridded of a nasty, persistent type of weed yet.

We have record heat.
Dry weather.
Fires nearby and now health warnings about going outside because the wind is blowing the smoke over the city.

We are hoping for rain.

Default missed the full moon

I had made plans to go to the beach tonight but the air quality is not so good.
Maybe in another day or two the wind will shift direction.

We got a drop or two of rain earlier -- that's a start.

One of the other forums asked about snow today, and we had our first fall of the season over-night! Only on the highlands though, and we can't see the mountain tops from where we live.

I assure you I don't need to see them to feel the cold. They say we'll probably have frost in the morning where I live. Here comes winter................Brrrrrr!

Koala,
Are you in the part of the world where it snows in June?
That is cool.

Where I am it is hot and humid now. Every time I go out, I come back in the apt. sweaty and wet. I have to do more loads of laundry.

Yes Mari, it's winter here for us and our coldest times of the year are June, July and early August.

June 1st was the first day of our winter, but look what DH found in the garden yesterday.

................................

Those spring bulbs have to bring promise of Spring weather just around the corner for us.
