Works really fast for a lot of people.
This has to be done by someone else: start in the hairline by the forehead. Grab with the tips of thumb and forefingers a small bush of hair, close to the scalp, and yank. Pull hard enough but don't overdo it like pulling out hairs. Yank every bush only once, work quickly. If you do not take the bushes too small it will not hurt, but if you make them too big it works less well. About a square inch of scalp per bush at most. Work backwards over the top of the head to the neck, then do the sides. If it feels good but the headache is not gone yet, you can repeat the process. Here are two different things you can do for yourself: First you feel for the edge of the cranium in the back of the scalp just above the hairline. This is where the tendons are that attach your neck muscles to your skull. They are shaped like an arc beside the top of the neck muscle. Press upwards against them and make small rotating motions along the arc. Do this pretty hard, first one side than the other, for a few minutes. Stick the tip of your outstretched index finger in the hollows behind your earlobes and exert some pressure for a count of five. Release. Would love to hear if anyone tries them and what you think. |

I often use pressure points to relieve the cervogenic spasm type headaches. especially in the back of the skull. I can feel the limp starting. Mine trigger up from the shoulder blad so I take tennis ball and place between the wing area and wall...THen I rub into the ball, as deep as I can stand it, around and around..Then I start to moan in pleasure bringing everyone out of the rooms wondering if I am crying, or moaning in pain or pleasure.
Ice on the neck skull and tens on the butcher knife in my back. Another thing to help headaches my daughter in law did a Fourth of July when when I had a massive migraine. She was trained in reflexology. She worked on my hands rubbing trigger spots. I remember once on TV I saw that the spot between the thumb and pointer that if you grab it and press really hard that you can help a headache. But the 4th, she finished and the day was saved. I went from tears of pain to an enjoyable evening. dianne

Hi Bizi and all,
As the topic is on stress relief of headache, lol that is what I have been busy with. Many stressers and playing the game of finding relief for tension, stress and migraine headaches and muscle spasms. I have more ice packs and shapes in the freezer then frozen veggies! I lather the Biofreeze, practice biofeedback to get all the muscles in limbs to relax and feel loose, and deep tummy breath. Not from the chest but low tummy. I try when sitting at night to feel the lift of the tummy and stop feeling my shoulders up around my ears and relax. There has been so many stressers lately, I have avoided any ER trips with crippling head pains and cervogenic flares though. Heart ache, I can only handle with great friends! I am blessed from the forum primarily having so many true and careing friends. Hope that your puter is working OK and great to see your post with all the helpful tips and information. love di
