Trig So upset, had a tooth break on me...*Sob*

I am so upset, I took two lorazepams to calm down, it's awful. I broke off a tooth to the gumline and I am so freaking afraid its going to start hurting really bad this weekend. I cried and still feel like crying it's not fair that my teeth are so bad. I feel like dentures are in my near future. When I was jackie's age I had like all eight molars filled because of decay, and the fillings are over thirty years old now and they cracked all eight molars. I am so upset.

I don't know what to do. It's really ripping me up because I don't have any money to go save them. Why does life have to throw such turmoil our way like this? I am so worried about this, I don't know what I can do to stop this cascading domino effect from happening, I have already lost four molars and already have a tough time chewing. It's just awful to feel hopeless about your dental health because medicaid will only cover dentures and emergency extractions.

I could cry I am so upset....

Thanks Bobby, I hope I don't have any pain either, so far none is hitting me, but it could change at the drop of a dime. I wish you weren't having teeth and gum problems too, it's the worst!

Dear Pam,
I'm sorry.
Did you call so you can see someone right away on Monday?
Is anyone available during the weekend?

Can you have someone call in pain meds for you just in case you need them?

I hope that you all right through this.

Mari

Thanks Curious, I postesd in the broken molar topic, hopefully Bryanna will see it there, if not I'll repost in its own thread. Thanks for caring. It means a lot to know people care.

So far it's still not hurting, but I am afraid it's going to kick in soon, might be lucky. Might get through the next month without pain until the extraction. Then I expect to be able to ask him for something stronger because I bet it will be a difficult one. But anyway, I don't hurt too much, just the tongue where it's getting iritated by the sharp edges. But if the filling falls out I am definitely calling to see about something stronger for the pain.

The soonest the dentist can see me is June 3rd. So I am kinda stuck with it until then, and all I can affoard is extraction, so I figure I am working up to being able to get partials. I keep losing teeth so it makes sense, since implants are trouble for people still, I think I will just get two partials after saving up for however long it will take.

Thank you both for posting and for caring, it makes me feel more confident that I can get through this.

Red face

Would you be able to call some one over the weekend if it does start to hurt or if the filling fell out.
wonder if orajel would help in a pinch?
Sorry Pamster that your tooth broke...just one more thing to add to your stress.
How is your turtle?

I don't think I can call anyone, but I am very lucky, it's NOT hurting still so all is well. I don't know if it's going to start up or not. BUt I am praying it doesn't.

Mr. T is doing great! Growing pretty fast but then we've had him for a few months so it stands to reason he's going to get bigger. No new pics to share though. I should be taking some soon. When I take some I will post them for sure!

Default Anbesol, Orajel

Dear Pamster,

When I had tooth pain, (due to a root infection), I found that any of the topical anesthetics like Anbesol or Orajel worked well in ameliorating it.

Default build up

Pam I am so sorry that you had this happen. They blam a lot on dry mouth from meds. My daughter had a lot of issues like that. I did have two molars break off about 2/3 3/4 of two of them. From foreign particles in food from our Local Muckey D's. The hamburg had a bone I hit and the tooth had a old filling, the salad had a hard, like a stone in it, tooth with old filler...But I did not lose them, or have pain. The dentist did build them up with a lot of filler material. Knowck on wood several years later thay are still great and none of the problems my kids had when they had root canal and crowns put on. I have shinney back teeth, but who sees them.
When I went the xray was around $15 and filler 50 If I remember.
Try a local college or dental school program. THis weekend a mobile dental van visited and did as need what they could for free to folks. IF you have a HELP line or emergency info line in your county call and ask.
Try to save what is left if you can. Oh, I did not have the rest of theold filling taken out, they reformed using that tooth and filler as a base to shape a new tooth.
Hugs
di
