Default I have not showered since Wednesday

Greetings,

I have not showered since Wednesday when I had a routine mdoc appointment.

I have no intention of showering tonight.

But I am trying to talk myself into a home pedicure tonight before bed. I'll shower when I wake up early afternoon before work tomorrow.

What happens when I do this?

What do you mean "what happens when"? When you don't shower for four or five days?

Hi,
I wonder what is going on in my head.
I went to the hair salon on Sat and cut my hair cut and colored.

Today I did nothing except some laundry.

I do that too. Get into moods of things are fine then another day I totally am nearly disfunctional.

I've gone almost a week w/o a shower after a surgery where I wasn't allowed to shower and had to have help just to wash my hair, nevermind shower. Here's what happens: really greasy hair; really itchy skin; really icky everything!

And anyway, good for you on laundry, because heh- I didn't do any! I went to work which was more like playtime I guess. Won't always be of course.

Wait- (re-reading)- you cut your OWN hair?

hi there,
Showering is a big thing for me.
I used to shower 2 times a week.
Since I have been going to the gym I have a routine:
rollout of bed, wake up while driving 10 minutes to the gym
do some physical activity that makes me sweat....
take a shower then get dressed in my scrubs that I had rolled in a ball in my gym bag.
It is a routine that I like now.

My point is I created a new routine.
But you know that I like routines.....
couple months ago I took the on-line real age test.
I started making some small changes that really were that big of a change. But they are good for me.
Flossing my teeth, I never did this before,
taking extra vit c and calcium and magnesium.
trying to get extra water in ...again these things aren't that big of a deal.
Showering:
One of the reasons that I did not like taking a shower at home is that I would sort of dissassociate while in the shower. My head would swim with chaos of thoughts and ideas....It was like I was add or something...I could not focus...I would have to try to go thru the steps and tell me the things that I need to do...like I would leave out a step...I would think too much in the shower...does that make sense.
It was almost like I was avoiding the shower because I was thinking too much in it....I did not want to think that much.
At the gym...I learned how to take a short simple shower and it not be a big deal..... their hot water and their towels, shampoo and conditioner are theres as well.
So it makes it really easy to use their facilities and I don't have to wash towels!

anyway...
I don't mean to ramble like this....
What I wanted to say is that maybe you are avoiding the shower for some reason.
Are you feeling depressed?......I think that not wanting to take care of hygiene issues is very common when you are depressed....
What does hubby say?
What is your gut feeling about this?

I do that too. Its just easier in the shower to think too much!!

Christopher was good last night in getting me to just relax and go to sleep, rather than stay in pain and worry. Because I WAS worried! Stomach pain & distention = horrible intestinal pain for hours and etc. and a hospital visit. But what happened? He watched over me, kept saying soothingly "Go to sleep..." and I was so relaxed I did. No thinking, just peace. And sleep- so my body could keep fighting the virus.

I don't shower everyday, I figure why bother, I'm not going anywhere or seeing anyone.

It all stems from depression.

I can identify with this too......I guess I just don't like myself enough right now to worry about being clean.....and it also shows in my huge pile of laundry and my dirty house!

Your not showering is like my not checking the mail. I've gone WEEKS and not gotten the mail before. My husband finally quit asking why and just started swinging by the mailbox on his way home and getting it himself.

Its not hurting anyone so who cares. Shower when you want too!! Worrying about it probably makes it harder to do.

(((hugs)))
