I have to find out if it is going to be a trial by jury or a bench trial.

Which I am not sure what a bench trial is.

Oh, this is the pits. I'm sure my DV counsler can shed some light on this. I see her on Tuesday.


I guess I will know next week at the next hearing when they set the date, or what my supeona states.

Nikko I sure hope it's just a bench trial and not a trial by jury. A bench trial is one without a jury, just the two sides and the judge.

I know the waiting will be hard but just try to think positive and that it's almost over and you can get some closure in all this.

So, then the judge has the final say. With all his history, there is no way she could let him get off, right?

His prior's, this last assault, and aggravated criminal damage. All my medical records, my order of protection.

If he gets off or this gets dismissed then I will have NO faith in the justice system.
My head is spinning again with all that has gone on since July and now it's almost Thanksgiving and it's still a burden, I want to get on with my life.

I wonder if he doesn't plead guilty and take the lesser than going to trial would happen next week. Then I wonder how long it will take for it to go to trial. Maybe not much if it is a bench trial.

I mean its all documented, it's all black and white, pictures and all. This had got to end soon and he needs to punished for his actions. As my bumper sticker says 'THERE'S NO EXCUSE FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE' and there isn't.

Maybe he is on a bus going somewhere.

Nikko with his past charges you'd think this would be an open and shut case. But unfortunately that's not how the legal system works. I don't feel comfortable talking about it just yet, but I've lost all faith in the justice system.

I hope this turns out in your favor and he gets what he deserves.

Anyway, Lifes changes s*ck some of the time. I just lost my Dad last month and two weeks later, lost my cousin who lived with us for 15 yrs, she was essentially a Sister to Me. She was my age and Dad had just turned 71 yrs young. I am devastated to say the least. I have been following whats happening to you and my heart is aching for You.

I wanted to give you some words of encouragement Love. You are such a sweet, caring and giving person, don't ever doubt that. YOU deserve all the happiness and peace in the World. You've reached out to so many in their time of need and I am glad you are getting the support and love you need from this forum. I have been lighting candles for You and saying prayers that this life's nightmare your going through ends soon with *Him* paying for what he has done to you recently and back then(I wish I knew back then Sweetie, but understand).

No-one deserves to be treated like that, EVER! I pray he pays, and pays dearly for hurting such a kind sweet woman like you. I also pray that he harms no other person ever again. I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART! I know I dropped out of sight for a looong time, and lost touch with everyone, but it was due to personal reasons, moves, surgeries ect. You HANG IN THERE LOVE, YOU HAVE US ALL!!!!! Prayer in numbers always works. Believe in Miracles and I want you to know, when I leave for England tomorrow, I am going to St. Paul's Catherdral in London and I am lighting Candles of Hope and Prayer for You. Take comfort in that as well. You'll have prayers from all over the world, and now even in another Country!!! I also am going to snail mail you something special to help you through this time, I am purchasing it in England. When I get back, I will PM you. Right now, I have not packed or done anything.

No snow!!!!! Ah your Pats, yeah my Dolphins are sunk. That was a year when the Red Sox won. I was shocked at my Yankees.
