Nikko,
I can't imagine watching seizures like that it must be pretty scarey.
So glad that he has you to caref or him.
Glad to hear that your nuerosurgeon called.
Abby, I am sorry that you are having new symptoms...very sorry.
never did my laundry this week so I must do it this weekend.
The neighbor across the street is getting to be very difficult to deal with.
Remember she is the woman who lost her husband and lives right across the street. and seems to have a narcisistic personality disorder, of course is unaware of anything wrong with her.
I basically want nothing to do with her now.
hope you folks have a sunny weekend.

Nikko, please hug those beautiful pups for me!!!

I love german shepards!!!

Your avitar reminds me of the one that used to come in and curl around my feet a a former job!!! He wasn't supposed to but his handler decided he couldn't stop him as he did it everytime he was in the building!!!

I hope they find out what is causing the seizures soon...

Abbie

Default rotation diet

Dear Abasaki,
Thinking of good expectations seems to work for me too. I mean, it is logical and it beats thinking the other way at least.

Dear Nikko,
I hope that the doggie is ok.
That's good that you have the surgeon appointment set up for yourself.

Dear Bizi,
Have you been able to set some space between you and the neighbor? Or does she try to call upon you often?

Yesterday, hubby's ENT doc told him he was allergic to some foods he likes (based on blood work she did) and told him to stop eating them. She also told him to eat his remaining allowed foods on a 4 day rotation diet.
So if he eats chicken one day, he can't eat it again for 4 days.
I spent a little time yesterday and then tonight afterwork helping him plan the four day diet.
I did a good job.

Red face

Tomorrow we are going to the frog festival.
If you will remember, last year jeff won the adult category in the frog races.
He has a handsome trophy to prove it in his office at work!
This afternoon Spent hours going thru linens-n-things, they are closing...I thought I had a $15 gift card so wandered about trying to find something to buy to use the card, found a new soap dispenser, purple...it is perfect!
then after an hour of looking for something else...I phoned home to have him tell me to come home...I grabbed some chocolates for the rest of the balance.
only to find out that there was only $4 left on the card so I put all of the chocolate back and left with the soap dispenser....sigh
My neighbor is a piece of work. long story....she cooked us dinner tonight but did not go to the symphony with us....
The music...most of it was very good, movie music, john williams, ben hur, Shindlers list, indiana jones....

I hope everyone has a nice sunday.

Cool hello... from a haunted past

hello to all of you who remember me

and a special hello to new "faces" i've not met before... i have been away a long time after a rotten and haunting experience.

here's to positive experiences in the future (thanks Abbie, i'll pounce right on that attitude right now! )

nothing planned for today, already 9 am where i am, day looks to be sunny/partly cloudy but i will probably stay in as i had a surprise migraine bad yesterday evening. we shall see. if my room-mates make a lot of noise, i may choose light over noise, and go outside with reflector shades, lol.

oh, but my sleep schedule is reversed, and tho i took something for once to get me to sleep, it failed. i'm getting sleepy now. LOL. i guess i'm on Pacific Time as far as sleep goes... it's only midnight there. Happened when i stayed up all night to watch Pres. Obama come in for a win. I hardly ever do news or politics, but this time i got sucked right in. This was an incredibly significant election for me. So now i gotta fix the sleep again... LOL, what else is new!

Dear Bizi,

I spent Saturday out in the stores too even though I only bought groceries.
Movie music is big and inspiring. I'm glad you enjoyed the symphany.
Maybe you will find some way to find peace with the neighbor. Is she talking about moving?

Dear Waves,
Oh dear. Going out into the light. . . .I'm not as good in bright light as I used to be.
I wonder for me if this is about getting older or if it is about settling into the limits of bipolar and the meds. Of course it could be something else entirely.

It is good to see you.
And yes, Obama's win signals a new day.

=-=-=-
I helped hubby with his new rotation diet again.
He wants to follow the MD's instructions but needs planning help from me to get started.
He likes trying to control for food. I think it feeds into his mild OCD.
But he also thinks food is the way to good health and generally practices what he thinks -- so his attitude is helpful to have around and usually I try to be supportive of whatever food kick he is on at the moment.

I took a nap late in the evening (9:00 - 10:00 pm) and then got up when my girlfriend came over for me to color her hair. A few minutes ago I saw that she made a mess in the shower with hair color still sitting on the shower curtain and bottom of the tub.
HOW hard is it to stand under a shower and rinse until the water runs clear???!!! It's not like this is the first time we did color together.

I'm less depressed than I was yesterday.
Maybe I should find a way to figure out what makes the difference. Most of the time I figure sleep is the determining factor. Maybe there are other factors and I can learn to control for them.

I want to start sleeping earlier.
It seems to be one of the things we do around here -- be hyper aware of sleep.

Have good Sundays everyone.

Hi all

Derrick went to his bowling tournament yesterday. He placed
second and will go to state next month. His average has gone up
since we got the 10 lb ball.

I also had William my grandson and we did pretty good. We just
stayed home the two of us. Then we went to get Derrick.

Anyway the parents went to my nephews wedding in my place since
I was supposed to be at the bowling tournament, but couldn't do
it thanks to the voice and how I felt.

Anyway, wanted to tell you Nikko, Seizures can be and are scary,
but Derrick tells me that they dont really hurt. And I've found that
with him he does best when I let him do what he needs to and go
about his own life.
I personally believe your dog is doing a great job taking care of
himself, and your doing a great job taking care of him. With a few
precautions. I used to be overprecautious, and still am in lots of
ways I'm just more careful now about how I go about it.

It really sounds like your dog is having some of the same kind of
seizures Derrick has, what are called complex partial. And when
it comes to someone else watching or taking care of him.

You will find that if no one else will at least if you can afford it,
the vet can and will be more than willing. But I'm betting you
can locate a friend that will be willing if you just give yourself
and them the chance.
