Default Dear Majo,

Thank you for this.

My close work friend informed me of his cancer news on Monday. By Tuesday, he had seen a doc who quickly set up an agressive treatment plan that he and his wife feel good about.
It is comforting to know that you and others are working with with these cells and contributing to the knowledge base.

I cried when I read your post.

It's next Friday Beth. I wish it was this Friday because I'd like to have this over and done with. The nurse told me attitude plays a big part in all this. I'm trying to not be afraid, to be strong. Nights are so hard once I turn out those lights out. I see my tdoc today after work because I need to talk. She's a survivor so she knows where I'm coming from.

Thanks for the update, BJ.

I hope it goes easily for you, and with little discomfort.

I won't be around for a while, so I won't be posting to you.

I will check in a little later in the summer if possible. So for now I am just sending positive thoughts for next week for you!

I'm so very sorry. I have a friend going through this at the moment. She is doing very well. She has a good attitude. She posts her progress at a website called Caring Bridge. IMHO, she does this to limit her discussions. I'm sure she talks about it with friends, but she doesn't want to make it a constant thing and I think she tries to keep conversations short and upbeat. Therefore, she posts at the website so that she can blast information out to several people rather than repeating herself a lot. She has continued with her day to day activities with little interruption. I am SO glad you are seeing the T-doc. Some extra appointments here and there might be a good idea at this time.

Prayers and good thoughts from me to you...and of course, a hug as well.

My thoughts and prayers are with your friend too. I dont know where his cancer is, but seriously, cells dissapaear !!! I was impressed when liver cancer cells (which I thought was extremely aggressive) died completely with a minimun dose of adriamicin in 24 hours

So, yeah, conclusion, this monster can be killed people ! dont be afraid.

Dear BJ,
Attitude is hugely important in this. I knew a pdoc who studied attitude and came up with very clear results about what a difference attitude makes. Reaching out and finding support is big too.
You are on your way there.
I will be thinking about you BOTH Fridays! Is that ok?

Ask the tdoc about support groups.

Oh yeah ! attitude, positive thoughts... it's been proved...

I read a study (I cant find it know, but it was amazing), where this scientist had 2 flasks with water in them...

He talked nicely to one, gave it hugs (yes, to the flask with water, no kidding), took care of it... etc and froze the water...

The other flask was abandoned, he shouted bad things to it etc and the, froze the water too...

Once frozen, the water was examined under a mmicroscope and guess what, the flask who received "love", had the water frozen in nice crystals... crystals were formed in harmony...

The other flask had the water frozen in a nasty and messy manner...

See my point ? We have to be positive, love ourselves and take care of us and any body part of us That helps the healing process (emotional and physical).

Oh, oh, I was going to post a pic but guess what I found....

See ?

Want to add my prayers.

I also will be gone for a short time starting on Friday. But if I can locate
a computer. I'll be checking in on folks.

I take Derrick to camp and then I'm going on a short vacation.

BJ

I'll be thinking of you also on both Fridays.

Heart Dear BJ

If you are up to reading, i highly recommend a book called Love, Medicine & Miracles by a surgeon called Bernie S. Siegel. This book is full of hope. It describes some extraordinary experiences he had with a very special group with "exceptional" patients...

Exceptional in that "miracles" - such as spontaneous regressions where least expected - occurred subsequent to changes made in a patient's mindset, lifestyle, or some form of self-awakening. I recall a description about having his pediatric patients envision fighting their disease, and that some would draw pictures of "antibodies" (rockets or phasers) fighting "invader" cells (often depicted in dark colors) and such like. (I don't think the book was limited to cancer... do not recall as i read it a long time ago.)

The point is, everything counts in what your mind does... positive imagery... everything.

Here's the Amazon general link to the book:

Love, Medicine & Miracles

And this is Amazon's "look inside" link to the book:

Love, Medicine & Miracles - preview pages

((( hugs )))

while i am not glad she has "been there" per se... i am glad for you that your tdoc does have the "inside view" and so can support you so closely.
