Ok, you all seem to have the matter under control, but as I have problems with bras as well here are a couple of things - cooking-wise!
From Lara, mini Halogen oven. Table-top, roasts (broils?), grills, bakes, at 1/2 the power of your conventional fan oven. 17 litre capacity, chicken + potatoes for example. Line the bottom with foil (Lara) and you have a s/s stand to wash, oven bowl just wipes clean.
Electric Steamer (3 basket) for everything else. Baskets are plastic, reservoir fills/empties with less than 2 pints of water from a jug. Steam veg, potatoes, fish. Seals in the vitamins so better for you. Above all else, no heavy pans - no boiling pans of water to drop. Very easy to clean. I am lucky, even with these items food.prep and washing up is impossible for me. My ex does everything like that for me. The dishwasher is a must-have, and is the ONLY household item which saves power.
I must say, Daesin, I am disappointed with yoir lazy dog! I have seen service dogs trained to empty washing machines - they don't iron yet, though. Tell him to get his act together!

I completely agree about the dog. He's the right breed to be a service dog, black lab....but has the wrong attitude entirely. When asked to do anything he complains heavily and blames his lack of thumbs. He does respond promptly when the toaster oven or microwave dings. I confused him with the new coffee pot. Its been a few days and he still responds to the buzzer. Its not recommended to get in the path of the black flash (100 lbs) as he dashes into the kitchen.

The cats did a great job culling dust bunnies!! I threw treats under the tv and couch. Then brushed the cats out when they came looking for more. Unfortunately I have had minimal luck getting them to unload the dyer. So far they simply lay in the basket....little steps.

Should you ever decide to change occupations, might I suggest your own advice column....hilarious! I really needed the laugh thank you!

Just wanted to mention that some of the Arthritis associations and Fibro associations, places like that, often have great ideas for assistive devices.

After reading your posts here with all these great ideas, I recall that years ago there were some great ideas posted in various places throughout the forums but for the life of me I can't find those threads right now.

Something very simple that I have found invaluable over the years is a long handled dust pan and broom.

The only thing I could never do without is my Ex. Without her I couldn't exist, and I never stop telling her so.
It is reciprocated, I pay her back in kind.

Many yrs ago, like 8-10 yrs someone here suggested an inexpensive, lightweight vacuum from Eureka called an ezkleen and I ordered it right away and it has been fine.
I could no longer find it but here is something close. it is just for easy vacuuming, not heavy carpeting but it sure helped me. I do have someone who does the heavy housework and she has a huge vacuum....this one is just for when the pet fur has started forming tumbleweeds or for light clean ups. it will do rugs but just the top dirt. I know roombas sound great but they are pricey, though I would love one.

I just love it, I have tumbleweeds and dust bunnies galore, why do they always gather in corners or under tables just before someone is due to arrive, or am I oblivious and someone arriving means I have my visitor spectacles on. I wish I wish I could do more, but returning to work and now having my mum living here my workload has increased threefold. The clothes basket fills every time I turn my back and the dishwasher unloaded every 2nd day. Not sure how much longer I can hang on for

Considering all you been thru, i am amazed at your getting back out in the workforce. No matter how long it lasts; you will always know you tried your best. Even tho at times you may be overwhelmed with all you have to do; you should be very pleased with yourself.
