Red face this is what I get

When I type in the address:

Quote:
The web site address you entered could not be found.
Please try the related content suggestions and paid advertisements below, or try another search.
You entered "www.brain.hastypastry.net ".
I used to get a logo of the OBT communities, but clicking on forums gave
me a white blank screen, with no updates. So perhaps it has all gone down by this afternoon? This is with Earthlink ISP. I sure wish I understood computers better.

Thanks for posting the update!

I get a blank page, as well, when I go to:

http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/

I see the logo when opening:

http://brain.hastypastry.net/

That's using MS IE. When using Opera, this is what I see while opening:

I'm getting the vbulletin status msg fine.

ps- at least david is trying to post what he knows as he knows it. you can tell he's not very technical to jam the 9/15 update on the bottom of the 8/24 msg.

He may be in the dark as much as the rest of us as to what/when/if ever.

Hmmm, that's the link I used, Dorry, and I've tried it in MS IE, Opera, and Netscape.

Thanks for posting the updated status message (since I sure can't see it) .

here's the current msg (same as b4)

Quote:
UPDATE 08.24.06 It has taken me much longer than expected to at least get the front page here and chatrooms running. I ran into the need to update the operating system, which caused more problems (the OS is broken to the point where I cannot run incremental updates). I'm waiting for the latest full version of OSX Server on CDs so I can do a full wipe of the drives and reinstall everything from scratch. Disks should arrive in the mail on Sept 5th the latest. Once that's here, I'll install the newest version of vBulletin and recover as much of the data from backups as I possibly can. I'm so sorry the system has been down for as long as it has. Every step forward I've taken to try and restore things seems to knock me 2 steps back, plus I have been travelling for work a great deal the past month. But I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for hanging in there. To get to the BrainTalk chatrooms, please visit: http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/chat/flashchat.php UPDATE 09.15.06 In case there are some that can see this message, John Lester now has the disks to reintall the OS & recover the database from backups. Thanks for your patience, David

http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/

gets me there, has updated info from David, that, although hardly a novel or masterpiece, does provide some info (IE6.0)

As it concerns this terrible "disappointment" towards JL, David and BT, I can only suggest, as others have (on other threads), that we take a wait and see attitude before allowing such emotional outrage to fester in our minds.

Some are expressing such a level of upset, anger, disdain, cynicism towards this issue/JL...that, were I in his shoes, I would expect that I would never in this lifetime [or any other] be able to "explain" anything to anyone to the extent that they would like or accept; or that any explanation of "why" I could not get everything up and running, and/or keep everyone updated, would fall on deaf/unforgiving ears...

I suppose I am quite frankly surprised to see so many who claimed genuine care/concern for both BT and JL, have written it/him off, and devilized his actions or should we say, inaction. Cynicism can be a circular creature.

But, that is just my opinion. It is a given that there is a loss, and/or that BT members feel let down, but come on...moral outrage [of the type/depth appearing here at BT2] is usually reserved for those that purposely cause physical or bodily harm to others; kick dogs; or push sticks into the carcasses of animals laying dead/or dying by the side of the road.
