Talking New chatbar + chatrooms

Hi folks,

Due to a change in our chat software, we are no longer able to share chatrooms with our sister site, the Forums at Psych Central. I apologize for this inconvenience. (You're still welcomed to chat over there, you just need to register on that forum separately.)

We've installed new chatbar software at the bottom of your screen that has a few chatrooms on it. It also allows you to chat instantly with other members who are on your Friends list.

You can set your status to be "Invisible" or "Busy" if you prefer not to use this feature.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
DocJohn

You have to click on an ID to start a chat with that specific person.

Red face I did that...

I clicked on an ID---actually back when there were 3 available, and now again on yours--- in your separate box, which comes up, the cursor shows and blinks but I cannot type with it.

It is similar to when your browser gets stuck and you have to leave a page and come back after a reboot. I've had my cursor at rare times stop typing, in the past in other situations.

I can type fine as you can see in this reply box.

Red face

I did not see the lower type box...before.

This may not have scrolled up or it was in my blur zone...as I wear trifocals. After breakfast and now I can see the zone with the blue icon. But I could not see it before.

Thanks, Doc. Sorry to be a pain.

I'm thinking the Chatrooms is more for shared convos and the Chat Now is for private convos like IM.

*The little bug or alien icon is a games section - so try those out for fun..*

Shocked

Yes, and it seems that the Chat Now is for people you have friended in your profile, and who log on.

BTW there are jillions of icons/smilies for the main chat room!

just an alert.....for anyone who goes to the cometchat site to read up....PLEASE do not confuse their own chatrooms and Chat Now box with ours.....they look the same but they are not us

You have to come back to the NT page for our own chat now and chatrooms
