Hi Kimmydawn,

I just wanted to say that I like the rules and guidelines here. It is spelled out so no one has to second guess how moderation is handled. I think the Mission Statement is excellent as well...key word "civil". I did not find this at the "other place"...so this website is like a breath of fresh air. I very much like the fact that if a moderator finds something objectionable, they will PM you privately...that is how it should be! Great job!

Thank you, Kathi! It's good to meet you!

Don't ever hesitate to ask about concerns and PM me anytime you might ever need.

Again, it's good to meet you.

KD

Thumbs up

Kimmydawn,
I have only met a few of the Moderators here..but I would like to express my thanks for the wonderful job you "all" are doing...
I like the fact that questions are answered in such a pleasant
" tone"..instead of a harsh one as on some other sites...Lisa

lisa,

That's my main goal. One can disagree, even argue, with respect.

It's about respect, understanding and appreciation, I think.

Even when carrying out administrative actions, even bans, there will never be disrespect by me. I feel the same about the moderation team in using respect and appreciation even with direction and actions.

IT CAN BE DONE. I've worked that way for two years now, and will continue to.

KD

Well, you're definitely good at it, Kimmydawn. You have a good way with words and with dufusing tense situations. I've seen it several times already.

I just want to add that while I was not one of the people involved in this particular situation on the other board...This board is getting a lot of recognition for being fair with members in the way you handle disputes with members or among members.....I think and it is my hope that others will recognize that members are treated fairly and privately rather than arbitrarily and harshly. I think if things keep on as they are on some of the other forums on the Internet, not just BT but many others...This board will take off just as BT did and become just as popular with people...Many people have not returned to BT..so maybe they will find a home here eventually...

I know I am recommending this place to as many people as I can...They like the mission statement and find it a little more people friendly here...I think the fact too that Doc John is willing to make certain the board is not going to crash is a plus too....Here again when we tried to warn of impending doom at the other place we were hushed and warned about keeping quiet... threads were locked...only days before the fall ...so to be able to have freedom of speech without fear of being banned is a real plus...now I promise not to bring up the other place again..
