Hi Ellie,
Welcome!

This may not be the best thread to visit first, or even second.

"Apparent Death" could be a clue that this is not a typical support thread...

Sally, we have less than 600 members here and we don't speak for the 10's of thousands of other members that have been left in the lurch. If JL's wittle feelings are hurt because people are "speculating", well he had the opportunity to clear that up and chose not to.

I have no sympathy for a tech that would do that to the disabled who have lost their lifelines. Hell he could have called Best Buy's Geek Squad and been up and running in a day!

I can see them galloping in to the rescue!!!!!!!!!! :D

Understood, but some of the people here are finding support. the issues that are causing pain may not be neuropathic in origin, but they are physically and mentally affected by those issues.

The difference is they are free to discuss them here.

It was linked to me, however, I can deal with your sarcasm. I'm a big girl. While my brain may have minor problems, it is pretty quick at picking up on clues. :)

This post was visited first, as explained above - this is what was linked to me via our BT Chatroom.

I could just as easily complain that he has not updated the website, but has done several updates alone on his SL Project - But I do not thrive off of that type of energy, nor do I think anyone should. I personally think that he was in over his head (workload) and simply could not keep up with it. The forums should have been 'handed over' if that were the case. But I will say that his other projects are also great ideas, and I do infact support them.

All I can do, however, is assume - and since assuming is not fact based, I don't feel too safe doing such and sharing all of it.

Regardless, I feel happy for the time I spent on BT and blessed with the friends I have made. I'd rather find the good in the situation than to focus on the negative parts.

Furthermore, you may state this thread should not be visited first or second - I will state this thread should not even exist because it is encouraging negative behavior. Those are my personal opinions, you have expressed yours and I have mine. :)

Thank you for the welcome, it is appreciated and accepted.

Also understood, but there is a difference between being permitted to discuss something and being encouraged to agree with something. People can comment or express their feelings without a response such as what has been given. It is almost like there is a clique-type thing.

Having your 'lifeline' cut off is very extreme, and it put a lot of people into a position they should not have to be in. That is noted, and understood by everyone who had to go through it, I have, too.

I can express my frustration without personally attacking someone, be it verbal or not - it is still an attack. I can also express my frustration and be over it, and not need someone to follow it with "That's what happens when someone doesn't care about you". That is a bitter response, and rather hurtful to the ears it falls on.

If people can express what they like, then why was my post followed by some snide remark about spam? I didn't post to promote the BT chatroom, I posted to state people are there and are talking.

There could be 3 of us there, or 30 of us - just because someone is bitter about the BT website doesn't mean we - those using the chat- should feel like we aren't permitted to say so.

It is great people are finding support, that is the reason behind these types of forums. I have moderated several forums with around 20,000 users - and I can speak first hand when I say that these types of things do more harm than good.

I am not defending JL - So don't look at it that way. I am stating that it should simply be a new start, a happy start, if this is where everyone plans to stay. Something positive, something good. Leave the drama at the door, wipe your feet - and make new friends, catch up with old.

I've lived many bitter days, and still have them haunt me now and then, but I know I feel much better when I just brush myself off and move on. You can look down on me if you want for trying to shy away from negative things, but that is how I am and I think I'm an OK person. ;)

Oh. Ellie I'm sorry. I didn't get that. I thought you came here, chose this forum and thread, then set about putting it down.

I really sincerely apologize.

However, when you say this thread should not even exist I disagree.

The behavior that spurred the posts you apparently don't like is well called into question.

It just is not good to hurt people. I'm sorry if I hurt you. I didn't mean to do that. I genuinely thought you came here, looked around and chose this thread of all the threads on offer. I didn't see your other post. I do apologize for what I wrote to you, since I misunderstood.

Let's do this.

I'm Ellie! I am 29, I have Trigeminal Neuralgia, Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (Partial Complex Seizures/Absent/Focal) and a non-existant short term memory!

It's nice to meet you! :D

I am also very cuddly, and I like coffee.

wow! I found....us!

Hey all....sure glad I found a link to this site.
I've been gone on vacation.....but after getting home found myself slinking back into depression and fatigue.
I am really sad to learn that there has been not a single update on whats going on with the old BT forum....sad to see its continued to stay down.
Hope it comes back up...or a new one comes back into full swing.
Blessings to all....the old crytears

I didn't realize anyone jumped on you Ellie. Whoever it was should be strung up! Most of us have been hot about it and moved on. When we "discuss" it there's no rage - just conversation. I think when the Sept 5th disks are arriving came and went, suspicions renewed.

Several ppl have come here and told us they didn't think we should discuss it. That created more problems for people because ppl needed to say what was on their heart. We've been down that road before. We try to let everyone have a say, and then things settle down.

Then there's Thelma, who is still trying to pin something nefarious on DJ2 for starting this forum and thinking we're going to give her the boot because of it. LOLOLOLOL. (We love you Thelma I swear!). And clouds z...poor clouds getting raked over the coals for his conspiracy theories, but he takes a licking and keeps on ticking. We love that guy!

The important point is everyone has a voice and between curious, paul w, thelma, Considerthis, jojo etc we won't let any cliques move in here ;) And TC will photoshop the guilty party in a new york minute!

If it appears that there are cliques, then it's ole curious's fault. She keeps bringing goodies and that damn 'wowchicka wow' (shaft 70's musak) disco ball!

Oh the agony of it all

BTW 29? baybee list :) (in an endearing way for us old farts) :D
