Lara, now I remember that! Some explanation was given if I remember, I just can't remember what that explanation was.

Default Time to face the truth

Sorry folks, but we have been abandoned in a most reprehensible manner. JL may be having problems but he has been reported posting regularly to his other areas of interest. But he has not given one minute to communicating with us.

Deny it if you must, but we no longer matter to JL. How long would it take to update the status screen even if it said it wasn't coming back? There wasn't even the pitiful screen we did get until I contacted JL's associate and told him I was writing an article for Wired magazine on the tragedy of BT and how it had left thousands of vulnerable people stranded. I was assured that the situation was temporary and that JL would make it right. The status screen went up the next day and since then zilch. I may really write that story. This is no small matter.

If JL is going to pull the equivalent of abandoning his family to run away with a painted floozy, so be it. It's time to accept the fact that, whatever he may have been at one time, he ended the relationship in a most dishonorable manner. And he STILL doesn't give a rat's butt about us. One message would have set things to rights. He couldn't make time even for that.

But there is still one thing he could do to make things tolerable. Turn over the archive, John. Give us our history. If it is trashed, we will fix it. Give it to us and let's simply agree to part. If not, don't expect the issue to go away. There is too much pain and suffering in that archive to just turn our backs on it.

I thought I remembered that it became non-profit status. Since that's the case, it seems someone would have to be in charge of the Non Profit. If JL has cut out, seems like he'd have to put someone else in his place rather than abandon it completely. I guess it depends on the individual. I am very concerned that we may never have access to the wealth of information that is on the site. It is too valuable to let it go this way. Much of it is ours to be able to give to others, but they have to be able to access it. By the way, last time I lookes at the Harvard site, it did list Braintalk as something it offered. If that is the case, either it needs to be removed as it is false or maybe they would offer to find another person to be in charge. Tattoo

To be honest, JL seems like a nice enough person. However, I told my husband who does this sort of stuff for a living. My husband also said that this was crap and that either JL does not know what he is doing or his story has a lot of holes in it.

Either way, it is looking grim for BT1.

The reason www.braintalk.org doesn't re-direct to the hastypastry site like it's supposed to is because the compnay that Mr. Lester used to register the domain name with went out of business.

As for the current status of BrainTalk...I have no idea.

There's a guy who wrote a popular book called, "He's Just Not that Into You"

I think it applies here. No excuses on our part ... no painted scenarios of why JL couldn't get in contact...

the fact is that he just wasn't that into the BT members...
