I talked to my son for a short time today...he's had company etc.
He did say he will send me an email...but from what I could gather as a first intervention, he said to look at your task master while waiting for the shut down, to see what is still running. That might give you a clue. I've had that happen a few times, and I control+alt+delete and close the running programs. If your new DSL has a remote viewing program, you might want to close it temporarily and see if that helps. I did that a long time ago. Just write down which one it is, and put it under the mouse pad so if you have to activate it, you can put it back.  I hope to see the email in a day or so.
