Yes, everything SEEMS to be fine now. I'm just wondering why it manifested itself in eBay primarily. Hmmmm.

Wink

Mine was affecting Google clicks...

I think the code downloaded is maybe partially copying common sites, to make it easier to conceal???

Ebay has been a target for spammers for a LONG time. I have received 3 emails with spoofed Ebay headers! I send them on to Ebay security.

And Melody here had a Google click problem about a month ago..it is on this forum in fact!

So the Malware scan fixed yours too! That's great.

Default Little bit of everything to look down the avenue ...

I am on IE 9 - and have tried eBay on all three browsers:
IE 7, 8 and 9 - in all different variants and developer modes
and yet - I had no problems at all; but then again I am on
CA Security Plus 2010 plus MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials)
and then with both of those running - I guess I haven't had
the opportunity to see anything or run into anything.

I don't know what OS you are running on; but Windows Update
did have a recent SP 1 and plus a new Malware Update as well;
on top of it there is Win Live eMail 2011 which knocks off those
email scams (including the spoofs - which also includes Pay Pal
spoofs too); and on top of all of this - there is a "Live Scanner"
download in Microsoft if you are using Vista or Win 7 - that you
can use to run it.

In addition - I was in eBay in FireFox - under both the current
and BETA version (I have both) - and nothing appeared; there is
some possibilities that the image that is embedded at eBay that
you are viewing is actually infested if it is linked from an outside
source instead of uploaded from eBay itself. (An eBay image)

Still scanning and scrolling across eBay and not finding anything;
but if there's a particular site that is actually a "sniffer to malware"
you can report it by clicking on report button that is provided on
the auction page.

Just remember to make sure you security is cranked up high and
is updated and running at its current mode ... if I had known what
the link was - I would had reported it for you; but for the fact that
you had received emails indicates that there is more to it than just
a "malware" - for I also suspect a "back door" was installed; behind
the screen or without your consent. For thousands of variants and
such the like are being created and manipulated daily.

What is even worse is, especially in emails - one can pick it up from
there as well.

Moreover, what exactly encryption is in your email accounts? I run
at a 256 encryption instead of 128 encryption - but even 128
encryption is good; many folks aren't even aware they can set
and/or configure their email encryption - leaving them with the basic
configuration that their own DNS/IP (Your Server Provider) had provided
you or with none ...

Just my humble opinion.
