Default Mouse bridge or platform

Apparently my wrist hurts because I've been mousing wrong. Anybody use a bridge or platform so that the mouse is up over the keypad side of the keyboard?

I've also been totally using my wrist as opposed to my elbow. Think I might try wearing a wrist splint for a while unti I break the habit of mousing with my wrist. Well, unless it messes up my typing.
