on the keyboard that hides the navigation bar--- It can be accidentally hit
while typing. I did this myself one summer when I got back from vacation and was rusty typing. My son says the command exists for people who want to hide the address they are visiting from prying eyes...like on a plane, or at work, etc. Alan might have just hit that command by mistake. I totally freaked too, so I understand the feeling!
