I sent off my enquiry to Photobucket yesterday asking why I couldn't access my account. I received this message in reply :

On Tuesday afternoon, some users that typed in the Photobucket.com URL were temporarily redirected to an incorrect page due to an error in our DNS hosting services. The error was fixed within an hour of its discovery, but due to the nature of the problem, some users will not have access to Photobucket for a few hours as the fix rolls out. It is important to note that only a portion of Photobucket users encountered the problem and that no Photobucket content, password information or other personal information was affected by the redirect.

Sincerely, Your Photobucket Support Team

I still can't access any of my graphics or photos that I saved, so I opened a new account today just for limited things.

I've lost faith in Photobucket I'm afraid, and knowing that my computer was dying, I put some pix in there that I didn't want to lose. Now it looks like I might have lost them anyway unless I can work out how to access them again.

Picasa by Google has a free photo site with it-
It can find all pictures on your pc for you, and you can edit them easily if needed and also upload to the free photo site right from the Picasa program.

I use photobucket mainly for posting IMG on the forums and the Google/Picasa site for keeping my main photos.

Thanks Jo. I actually do use Picasa, but I moved a few photos across into Photobucket so I wouldn't lose them when I change computers. I just don't understand why I can't access my account, when I can access the new one I started yesterday.

No worries Curious. I'm using Firefox, but guess what????

I just tried one more time, and after refusing my password a few times, it finally let me in...and...I can once again access my pictures! YAY!

I have no idea what the problem was but as I've done nothing different, I have to assume it was something at their end!

Thank you everyone who tried to help.

Lightbulb I just went to photobucket today

To put up this funny picture:

And it gave me some delays....it appears to have be redone, the site. But I put in my password twice and then it popped up
a new box asking me for a NEW password...to update it.

So I did and got in fine. But it was a short delay...they are slow to respond.

Mrs D, that cat pic is so funny (as long as it wasn't hurt, of course).

Not only is that the sort of thing our last cat would have done, but the cat in the pic is the image of our "Esky", in fact I thought it was him at first.

Thanx for the smile.

I'm glad you liked it... I took it down, BTW.
