We all await your entrance this Thanksgiving night

The guest at our table with no tale to tell

The reason for the ringing of the dinner bell

We'll dine on your body leaving nothing but bone

And be thankful for each other, your presence unknown'

So thank you dear turkey for completing our feast

And for the time with family all gathering to eat.

giving of ones self there are so many ways
a helping hand a loving heart, a kind thing you say
it is of ourselves that we share to make others glad
glad for the kindness shown, forgetting they were sad
then the true impact of giving hits you as you sit and reflect
knowing this minute` effort did have an wonderful effect
you made someones day, brighten someones dark cloud
maybe it made a difference and kept them from shouting out loud
shouting in frustration, only to be smiling and feeling anew
because you gave of your heart and helped erase their blues
giving of yourself with no reward to hold as your own
through random acts of giving hopefully a new seed you have sown
