does it make any sense that crunchy things are ok but sometimes firm meat or like causes some discomfort ?? every once in awhile a crunchy item will cause a slight pain too, nothing like the sharp nerve pain my tooth they removed was experiancing.

Hi cvcman,

Yes, it makes sense to have less discomfort when eating crunchy foods because meat requires more chewing.

humm so it still could be a crack ?? Or more likely still healing ??:cool:

It could be a hairline crack, yes. But I think you would have more pain if it were. Still healing.... that's my feeling at this point :-))

ok, if it is a crack it cant be like the other one because I couldnt eat stuff like this on the one they pulled it would have killed me.

This one is weird because it almost feels worse when you scrape something across the edge of the cusp.

So YOU would just give it some more time at this point ?? It also seems like the tooth bothers more when that gum area gets sensitive.

If it is a small fracture, it will feel fine when nothing is irritating it. Anytime the gum tissue is irritated, the tooth can be bothersome as well.

Unless other symptoms develop, I would give it some more time. I would also have it monitored with an xray at my cleaning appointments :)

update... Bryanna for the most part I can eat everything, some things still bother very slightly like real firm meat or firm pcs of oatmeal I can feel a slight discomfort, but pretzles, nuts etc no problem.

I would hope it will be 100% soon whacha think ??

I had the molar surgicaly extracted back in Sep so its been 5 months, could this still be healing ??

Miss ya :D

Hey there!!

It sounds to me like things are going ok! A steady improvement is always a good sign ;-))

I would just go easy on the foods that still cause a little discomfort so as not to aggravate anything. NOT that there is anything to aggravate ;-)
Hopefully in time you will be good as new!!

I've missed ya too ~~;->

Hope you are never bothered by that situation again!
