You say you are a factual person, yes?

So lets follow a logic train together.

-You are upset because you think that your life is half over, therefore you must want to live and/or have something to live for.

-If you want to live you probably want to be happy.

-If you dwell too much on what might happen years in the future, it will be hard to be happy.

-SO any time you spend worrying is time wasted, and according to your original worry, wasting time is bad.

IN CONCLUSION

Logic dictates that you must not worry about the future, for in doing so you only worsen the problem.

Don't worry about tomorrow, focus on today. Do whatever makes you happy. Do anything that makes you feel fulfilled. And do everything you can to make sure you make the time you have left count. If you strive for love and happiness, you can always look back and feel satisfied, and you can look forward without fear and be at peace.

Confused *That*, is the problem!!!

My mind won't allow me to stay in the "here and now"!
It keeps thinking, ahead, to the time, when, I *won't* be here!

Just read your post, heck honey, I'm almost 57 and I'm just gettin warmed up. I have a grandmother 101 and I think I can beat her score.lol

It is at times hard not to focus on age or longevity and what one has accomplished, but try to look forward and see what you can accomplish. Honey, if you can't change it, ain't no use worryin about it. The grass is going to stay green no matter how much one would wish it another color.
This is actually my philosophy on aging:

I was young, did things the young do, called foolish and was reprimanded
I aged some, matured, and was wary of being called foolish or reprimanded
I now realize as I age, there is no one to reprimand, or call me foolish...I have reached the age where its ok to do somewhat foolish things and actually get away with it. So live life, have fun, take a second look, your life is not half over, it just beginning a new season!!!

Yeah, I know depression can make it seem like we've lived two hundred years in one year.

Default COK, maybe, I have this attitude, because,................

I've just *never* known *anyone* to live past their 80's???
So, to *me*, I *am* at the half-point.

Lightbulb

......maybe just try to 'embrace' it...... instead of 'fighting' it.... ?

You're a factual person and it's a fact we'll die at some point......so accept it and live each day from here on as the 'first day is the rest of your life' theory.

I know I'm making it sound easier than it really is, but I really am sad for you that this is such an internal battle that consumes so much of the time you should be 'living' out the rest of your life.

I care....so slap me ....

Unhappy That, is the point!...I *can't* accept it!!!
