Unhappy Help depressed!!!!!!!!!

I need help. I am currently pregnant and not able to take my depression medication. Can anyone please suggest to me things to occupy my mind during the day? I am a stay at home mom with a 5 1/2 year old son. My mind never stops and I can't ever get motivated. I feel helpless. I can't relax even though I am not doing anything. Please someone help.

Hello Brittkay, I am also depressed and not currently getting treated. I can no longer afford to pay for medication, (nothing really helped me anyway ).

I know that unmotivated feeling all too well, like even these simple things take way too much effort. Sometimes I can only find the energy to sit and watch free movies or tv shows online.

I wish I could tell you a sure fire way to distract your mind, but I'm afraid all I have to offer are the basics; you know, read a book, listen to music, watch tv, surf the web. Try to get therapy if it's at all possible. Just talking to someone about it can be very helpful; that's why I spend so much time here on Neurotalk. Not many people come around the depression forum, I don't know why. I usually hang around the "Survivors of Suicide" forum. Maybe that won't work for you, but the people there have helped me a lot.

Anyway, the best treatment I've found so far is this forum.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but keep coming back and posting, here and anywhere else you think you might fit, someone is bound to give you some good ideas.

Take care

What about computer games? Silly as it sounds, they're designed to keep your mind active!

I have MS and because of that my memory is terrible. To counteract that I'm told to play this type of game at least once per day.

There are plenty of free sites that have games.... even sites like Face Book have them.

Then there are groups for mothers with children. If you can't get out of the house, there are lots you can join from home on the computer. Do a computer search, then do it again and add the area where you live. I'm sure lots will come up.

If you have a medical ailment, you can search for Internet support sites close to you, or...... if you have a hobby... like scrap booking for example, have a look for a group in the area where you live.

That's just a few of my thoughts. There are probably more that others can suggest.
