Default looking for others that understand

I have lived with depression all my adult life and probably most of my childhood and I feel like those closest to me done even see when I am suffering most. I wonder how many others feel this way. They say I am high functioning but I dont feel like it. Im tired, so tired I just want a complete shut down for a while but thats not possible when your husband drives over the road, you have two kids, go to school and work part time. I want time off!!

Believe me, I know how you feel. I felt like you did when I was younger. I was depressed even as a child -- after i got married, I finally sought out therapy. In fact, I committed myself to a mental hospital for 2 weeks after I had a Mini-nervous breakdown. After I got out, I continued to see a psychiatrist for a year afterwards.

Then thru the years I was in therapy off and on. I'm now on an antidepressant, and have been for many years. It works very well for me, and Lord only knows what would happen if I got off of it!

PLEASE seek out treatment or at LEAST talk to your medical doctor about your depression. You don't need to live like this. Life IS good, with the proper treatment! God bless and please take care of yourself. It's YOUR turn -- you can't take care of anyone else unless you take care of YOU. Hugs, Lee

Default dear lifesentance

I am glad you found Neuro Talk. There is alot of dicussion about depression. Many of us have depression because of our medical conditions. I had some depression even before all my medical issues. I did seek help, and I hope you will consider that. I went on medication, and It didn't take away the problems but it did stabilize my moods. Keep coming back here. This site has helped me to cope. You can make a few friends here too. I do wish you all the best. ginnie
