Default Hello

I am new to this site, my sister referred me but I don't know her user name so couldn't list her. I used to post on the brain tree site under this sign in name but it wouldn't take my password for some reason. I'll try again later.

I've been offline a year and have missed my friends and the help they gave me. Not sure how long this computer will last but I'm here till it gives out.

I have what my dr. calls double depression. We just try to keep my depression from going to the point where I want to walk in front of a semi. Some days are better than others.

I live with two bi-polar people with ocds. Not easy. There are 8 of us including children in a very small house. That is enough to make anyone crazy. But we are all thankful that we have a roof over our heads and to be together.

I may post on the bi-polar board as well, to get help with dealing with my bi-polar members of the family.

We are experiencing unusual weather for our part of the country at the moment. Spent all day yesterday with no power due to the ice on the wires. It went off at about 5 a.m. and we didn't get it back on til 9 p.m. It was hard with two little boys age 4 and 2 that are addicted to their movies. Plus the cold, this new house is all electric. Not as bad as it would have been in the old house but colder than we are used to. I moved from IL to get away from this kind of weather. Ha Ha.

I am on 300 mg a day of Welbutrin and .5 mg of ativan when needed. I also get panic or anxiety attacks. Sometimes I can recognize what will trigger them and sometimes I have no clue. I'd like to try the cymbalta as I am also in chronic pain, but the program I am on will not even help pay for it, they cover my welbutrin and ativan no charge. I can't take the other two anti-depressants that they will cover, I've already tried them and they weren't right for me.

Got to go this has turned out to be longer than I'd planned.

Hi Madd Tatter and welcome. Hasn't this icy weather in Texas been awful?

I also suffer from depression. I'm so glad that you found us and our nice soft place to land. I look forward to getting to know you.

Julie

Hi there and welcome.

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with depression to such a high degree with anxiety and panic. That can feel like hell on earth, I know. I also understand a large number of people in one small house. In that case, there's no place or time where one can manage the self-care that they need to, when they need to.

Please know that you're not alone. We're here. We care.

I'm glad you're seeing a dr. for this...one who seems to understand how difficult it is for you.

Default Thank you

Thank you, I can't seem to get back to the other forum, tried re-registering but no email to activate it as yet. I started out in the bipolar forum as there was no depression forum. It helped as they understand my depression and helped me understand my bipolar significant other.

We now have his son diagnosed with bipolar, ocd, and anxiety. Which I could see for years. His soon to be ex-wife is also bipolar but I feel lives in a fantasy world all her own and the two I live with don't. They can handle money alright and she can't at all. That is why they always had to live with either us or her family. She is getting help but we don't think she is telling her pdoc everything she should or the truth.

She has trouble with seeing what is true and what isn't. Sorry to vent I should do that in another thread.

Anyway, we are gong through the steps so my stepson and his kids can be self sufficient and either get a place of their own or his brother and sister-in-law want to get a house big enough for all of them to share and help each other with the expenses.

So hopefully, we will be 3 less people soon. We have also taken in a friend of my son's. His mother kicked him out. That is also another story and I seem to attract bipolar people(his mother is) like a magnet. After he gets his state ID he will be getting a job then a place of his own. He is out of high school and my son is graduating this year.

The old forum was my lifeline at times, the only place I had to vent about what was happening. I've needed that, we live too far from town and no vehicle so I can't join a group at our clinic and too many of the family go to that clinic. Like my step-son's soon to be ex-wife.

Lord knows what she's told them. She can't seem to tell the truth if her life depended on it. Or her world is very different from the one everyone else is in.

Anyway thanks for being here.

Smile Hi MT...

I'm glad that your friend referred you here. It can be a very nice place to be. I am personally familiar with many of the symptoms and issues that you describe, and so are others. Everyone here will be more than happy to help you in any way they can.

And as far as the venting goes, you just vent away whenever you need to. We'll listen with true interest and compassion. I promise. I hope everything picks up for you, and look forward to seeing you in the future...

Best Wishes,
Idealist
