Howdy vodpop!
The bit about "history of epilepsy" wasn't in your post. That was just a bit of general information based on the assumption that this was an initial diagnosis.

Ok, I see. Thanks everyone. I tend to get confused and tend to over analyze things.. But it makes sense. I'm a pretty direct and to the point kinda person- that always works best for me, otherwise I get confused. I guess I was just expecting her to be more direct with me and to the point.
Thanks again everyone! ![]()

I got my MRI results- NO Change. Well, for me, No change is good change.
![]() ![]() Have I mentioned what a difference the Topamax has made? My headaches have been reduced so dramatically, I wish I would have gone on this stuff a couple of years ago. I'm still titrating onto it (almost done) so hopefully there won't be any other side effects (most have passed now) and the rest of my symptoms will be gone (meaning no more sp's or aura's in the future). Happy happy day. ![]()

Hi-
I am glad that the topamax is working for you (I did not have such luck) and that the MRI still looks good. I haven't seen it mentioned on this thread, but some scientists and doctors believe that migraines and seizures are closely related. And I believe it myself. My roommate in grad. school had severe migraine headaches, with auras (lights around things etc...). Her mom had epilepsy. Ironically, after 3 years of being roommates, I was diagnosed with epilepsy after starting to have GMs. Little did I know that the deja vu, "upset stomach" and occasional loss of time were seizures. ![]() Most of the time my EEGs are normal. Like Dave said, timing is everything. Also, my seizure focus is pretty deep, so the activity is not always caught by the EEG, since they are only on the surface. Will be keeping my fingers crossed that things keep going well. Stace |

I've heard before that migraines can actually be a form of seizure activity (basically small cluster seizures). I'm not sure if that's the situation in my case or not, but either way the stuff is working and I'm glad. Hopefully it'll keep them from progressing like they did in the past. I never had any kind of control with meds before surgery so this is nice. Really nice.
What are you taking now and does it help? How about the migraines? stef
