Hi Tiger lilly ~ Welcome
I think we might have a bit in common.

My name is Nancy but everyone calls me jingle. and I have epilepsy

You're 26 ..... turn that around - lol -- I'm 62.

I adore lilies and have hundreds and hundreds ...... I have something I call the lily field and that includes some tiger lilies. When spring finally arrives in Missouri I'll be out there planting dozens and dozens and dozens more. I'll take photos and show you some. OK?

Three Right Temporal Brain surgeries ?... my goodness. I've had just one left temporal lobe brain surgery Feb 14, 2006. That removed a tumor but my seizures are back. There's a chance I'll have more surgery. I hope so.

If I'm not being too nosey, I would sincerely like to hear why you had three surgeries and how things are going. You are free to ignore me completely - no feeling hurt or anything

Hi Joey,
Welcome to the forum! I've had 2 brain surgeries one on the right temporal lobe using ultrasound and my first surgery was a video eeg where they drilled 7 holes in my head and put the electrodes directly on my brain. I wanted to have gamma knife surgery done to get rid of the extra scar tissue deep in my right temporal lobe but my surgeon told me it would take about 20 surgeries and my brain would be fried, so I have learned to live with reduced absence (petit mal) and complex partial seizures. I used to have 300 sz. a yr. but since surgery the least I've had is 68 in one yr. and that's all do to hormones changing. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

Sue

Post Well

Thanks for the welcome......I've had three brain surgeries for Epilepsy. i can't remember exactly when I had them done but I used to have about eight seizures a day before I had my first surgery. I was seizure free for about six months then started having them again. Went right back in for second surgery, was seizure free for about four months then developed a CSF leak.. which was like a bubble on the right side of my head. So I had to go back in for number 3 surgery.......they put a patch made out of collogen(spelling) of a pig intestin over were the leak was. Because the leak was pretty big it eroded my skull so now I have a metal plate on my right temporal lobe because I have no bone there anymore. My seizures have slowed down but I'm waiting to find out about a fourth brain surgery. It just sucks because of the depression.....and the headaches I have.

(((Tiger lilly))) Oh, wow, I'm glad you came back! I was a bit afraid you wouldn't ..... I don't know why.

I sure does sound like you've had a rough time. I'm so very sorry. Brain surgery is not easy !!

My single surgery stopped the miserable headaches I was having and they did return but not 1/2 as frequent or as bad.

That CFS leak sounds terrible too!! I fight some rotten depression too and I don't face all that you have. You must be a strong, blessed young woman.

And we want you to know that you are absolutely welcome to vent here .... lol ... you can even whine !! And maybe we can even answer questions. In other forums there are people who can help with CFS questions, if you have any.

I don't think I would be alive today if I hadn't found the (old) Brain Talk forum many years ago and been able to whine and cry and dump what I was feeling and what I was so afraid of.

God bless and keep you.

My doctors are actually debating right now on doing the internal eeg. I've been waiting for sometime now while the look over all my old records. I go and see a headache doctor this Tuesday then hopefully it won't be to long after that to know what they want to do. It's nice to have someone here who's actually been through that and who can tell me how it was. It's also nice to have a place to vent, whine, laugh, or cry. Thanks for the welcome and God Bless you also!!
