I have had blurry vision on and off since last Wed. when I had my first GM sz. and I was wondering if this is normal or should my eyesight be okay now. I just had my eyes examined in Aug. and got new glasses so I'm used to them but nothing like this has happened since the gm sz. I had last wk.

Please have your eyes checked, they could have gotten better like mine did or worse. I couldn't see and I was so scared after one week of 3 grand mals.
Than I went to get my eyes checked,my nearsightedness and farsigtnedness
both improved.

Sue: I've had that happen a couple of times which usually went away in a couple of hours which I think was postictal. The last time around I hit my head pretty bad from what my wife said. Question 1 (most important), did you call your doctor? If not please do, "do not pass go, do not collect $200.00, go directly to the doctor, especially if it's something out of the ordinary. Question 2, do you know if you hit your head. Question 3, were you wearing your glasses at the time and perhaps hit them? A simple maladjustment can throw the optical placement of your glasses off, especially if you have a high prescription, progressive lenses or high index lenses. (I used to be an optician by trade) Have your optician or optometrist chech your adjustment. You are in my prayers, keep us updated.

This is common, however, there could be so many causes I don't want to direct you on what to do short of saying you should get checked out as soon as possible. I will also tell you what mine do.

When I have smaller seizures (focals, if you will) my vision will blur, get fuzzy, etc. I also have had several cases of feeling like I am on a boat (rocking when I'm not) - that usually accompanies my blurred vision. The best way I had this caught was going through about 3 hours of testing with an optometrist who has experience in working with people who have seizure disorders, head injuries, etc. She -knows- what to watch for, making it easier for her.

My eyes sometimes wont focus at all, if I weren't able to talk and whatnot, I'd have a similar reaction as someone who is in a coma. My Trigeminal Neuralgia can act up causing this, too - so I always have to 'test' myself to see who I get to blame. Normally, when my eyes do this my right pupil will be large while the left remains small. This doesn't always happen, but when it is severe, it is.

Regardless of the causes, you should let your doctor know about this and go get your eyes checked. There could be so many reasons behind this, so don't blow it off.

My epi is out of town for 2 wks. so I called my family Dr. and he feels that I have a light concussion that has caused the head pain and blurry vision. I got the papers in the mail today and I'm reporting the clinic to the medical conduct board. Thanks for all your support and help. May God Bless All of You!
