Hi SDFencer,

My husband has had back surgery done twice and I he lost feeling in his right leg which is all part of the surgery he had done. In regards to feeling dizzy and losing your balance at times that could all be related to your brain surgery that you had. I've had brain surgery done twice for epilepsy to help reduce my sz. and every now and then I get dizzy and my balance isn't be greatest but my neurosurgeon told me this was all do to the surgery I had along with the area of my brain that they found damage which was on the right temporal lobe. You may want to speak with your neurosurgeon and let them know what's going on. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!
