Hey, Sue.
![]() 80 lbs in 3-4 months?? OMG... ![]() Carbs are not an issue for me. I eat whatever carbs I feel the need to, but I mostly need whole grains and lean protein to stabilize my blood sugar, which is getting low again after being normal for about 4-5 years. It's extremely important for me to: 1) eat small meals about 5-6 times a day, with plenty of lean protein; 2) drink a lot of water; 3) never skip a meal for any reason; 4) get proper sleep; 5) fill up on vegs; and 6) move around as much as possible, although at this point, with nasty plantar fasciitis in my right foot, walking is out. I want to get a bike or start swimming. Stay well! LIZARD ![]() |

Hi Lizard,
I find it interesting how you can eat grain and proteins that's 2 things I have to cut back on because to much grain makes me gain weight and alzheimers runs in my family genes so I have been told to cut back on the proteins. Proteins also cause me to have sz. To be honest it made me feel really good when I lost all the weight because I was overweight at the time and since I've lost the weight the most I've ever weighed is between 127 and 132 lbs. Just like you mentioned I've learned to eat small meals and I've found it a big help to eat slowly because that way I fill up faster. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You! Sue |

I must have the protein in order to stabilize my blood sugar. The high intake of sugar makes my glucose crash and can result in szs. The cool thing is that, now I know how to work my food portions and lose while I get my sugar under control. It's so cool!

Hi Lizard,
I'm glad that you are able to keep your surgar under control. I'm watching the starch foods and carbs. I take in because diabetes type 2 runs in my family and I don't want to end up with it. I ask myself if the reason why diabetes started with my father is because he was way overweight and he drank a lot of alcohol over the yrs. which I have heard can lead to diabetes. She asked me to go to a WW meeting with her, and for breakfast before we left, her hubby (they married when I was 28, so he's not my "stepfather"--y'know??) made me my typical breakfast sandwich WW-style. 6 measley points, and God...it was so good!!!!!!!! I was then off an runnin' learning how to substitute in lower-calorie, higher-fiber, lower-fat ways to get my "fix" and not deprive myself. That was August 18 of last year, and nearly 80 lbs are GONE FOREVER. I have learned how to disperse my points through the day, eating about 5-6 times a day, and I'm losing while I eat what I want, too!! It's so cool!! Thanks for the PF advice.
![]() ![]() Do you do the stretching forever?? Does it ever actually heal completely? I really thought losing nearly 80 lbs would make it better, but it seems even worse than before I started WW. as for the PF it can be sciatica related, my pf got better but turned into IT band problems (same leg), the IT band runs from the outside of the knee to the hip. Stretching is always good. Good shoes are important. Get new shoes often (I've been told every 3 months), before they wear out on the bottoms. I've read that taking tegretol can cause/ aggrivate tendon and ligament injuries, so who knows. If it's not one tendon it's another. |
