Sue-
You mentioned in another thread that if you take a shower with the water too hot it can induce a seizure for you... I've often had a sort of panic attack feeling when the water is too hot (suddenly dizzy, hard to breathe, unstable on my feet and light headed with what I describe as my "oh s*&t feeling"). It only lasts for 20-30 seconds and then is gone but I keep wondering if its a simple partial seizure. Sound familiar?
I've had simples and complex partial seizures for several years (until my RTL surgery seven years ago) and now have finally gone on Topamax and have achieved control with only an occasional simple breakthrough.
But that feeling when I get really hot has always made me wonder if it's just me or if other people experience it too?

Hi Stef,
What you are describing could possibly be a simple partial sz. (aura) My Epi told me that some people can have sz. do to hot water hitting there head. I just finished doing a medical study where I had to take my temperature 4 times a day and each time after a sz. They found that each day that I had sz. before and after the sz. my temperature was higher. It could be possible that the hot water is triggering sz. for you. Take note and see if this happens when your hormones are changing this is when it happens to me the most. Here's wishing you the best of Luck and May God Bless You!

Traci here
And I am here to tell you guys that yes it is true I have sz in the shower quite a bit. Yes they are called simple partial sz that is what I have and it is brought on by many things water hiting the head or the sound of the water coming out of the shower head. And your Hormones changing is a big part of it as well.I am just glad there is a bar to grap in my shower is all (lol) my (aura) come so fast that they don`t really give me time to prepare but enought time to grap on to the bar in the shower and hold tight. stay well and god bless Traci

IK've felt it come on many time (what I describe as my "oh S$it feeling) when I'm in the shower and the water is hot. I just figured I was getting overheated. Often happens in dressing rooms and in stores too. Unfortunately I dont have a bar to grab a hold of so I find myself swaying back and forth trying to steady myself and not fall over (a lot like low blood pressure- which i have also). Always wondered if that was a seizure (sp) or not, cause it sure feels like it, just never knew being hot could trigger it. Explains why i feel like that at work (in 100 degree weather with no air conditioning).
