From my reading in the past, tender points & trigger points are two different things.
I do get trigger points (TrPs) and I do have some tender points. the TrPs can be resolved (usually) buy manual TrP therapy - pressing til the pain dissipates. TrPs can cause referred pain and symptoms in other locations. scroll down on this link for more info on TrPs & then another section on it has links for FM & tender points. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/post388-1.html and there are latent TrPs also - usually after you resolve the active TrPs the latent ones may show up as sore then.
