I've been having chronic pain for the past several years though I'm only 25. Fibro had been tossed around as a diagnosis a few times but, to be honest, it never fit right until recently. It always felt like it was something different- and I was right. I have thoracic outlet syndrome and ehlers-danlos syndrome. In January, I had surgery to remove my two upper ribs and 2/3 of the scalene muscles in my neck and though some of my symptoms have gotten better, some have gotten far worse and I've gotten new symptoms altogether. I think the physical trauma either triggered the fibro or worsened it.
My pain isn't just in the TOS area, it's everywhere. Sometimes nervy, always achy, but everywhere. I was at my wit's end before with the pain, but now the fatigue and lack of concentration... I think that's the worst part of it. I a completely useless. I can't function. It's so bad I called my rheumo today and begged an appointment tomorrow. My symptoms are out of control and I'm not on any meds. I'm desperately hoping they can help tomorrow but I'm so new to all of this and, I'm a breastfeeding mom. Is there help for me? Or do I need to wean? :-( |

Bless your heart -- and a new Mom too! Oh boy, you have your hands full. I'm so sorry you're suffering from this, but I hate to tell you that it sure sounds like brain fog from Fibromyalgia.
I think the brain fog is the worst part of Fibro. I have days where NOTHING makes sense. My head is full, but I don't know what it's full of. LOL I guess I have to laugh because what else can I do? ![]() Gosh for you to get brain fog isn't funny at all -- and you MUST have your wits about you. I'm 64 yrs old, and a widow -- I don't have to do much of anything because I'm disabled. My son lives with me, and if anything needs doing, I'll make HIM do it. ![]() Dearheart -- my prayers are with you. I know you can't be on meds right now due to breast feeding --- but should you decide to wean your baby so that you CAN get on some meds, perhaps you'll feel a little better. I do APPLAUD your decision to breast feed. It seems too many younger people just don't want to bother with that anymore. But babies ARE healthier when you do, so thank you for caring so much about your baby's health! You're a GREAT Mom!! ![]() God bless you and keep us posted as to how you're doing, will you? Big hugs, Lee ![]()
