Unhappy Does anything really help????
I was diagnosed with fibro about 17 years ago...I have tried a lot stuff...I'm not on anything right now except wellbrutrin...I just deal with it. But lately it has been more than I can take...help...

Everyone is different so there could be a drug combo you haven't tried yet. Right now I am on muscle relaxants and a bunch of brain meds to help. It doesn't quite help but it brings the noise level down to where I can function somewhat.

I guess I need to just be patient and keep looking for a doc that might just help me...thanks

Yeah pain and patience don't really go together. But with this illness it almost forces you to become a type B personality.

Mobic works for me anti-inflammatory and Ultram

Also I have added more zinc in my diet and supplements as well as Borage oil which has helped with those pesky prostaglandins that cause pain for me.

Mobic is anti inflammatory - my rheumy gave it to me. Kind of like cellebrex its a COX 2 inhibitor or something.

Ultram is pain killer. But thats because I also have a lot of pain from TOS in addition to fibro.

Also have conected a lot of my fibro pain to mentrual cycles and gyn doc is suspecting endometriosis which causes those prostraglandin pain hormones. Endo is linked to high % of people with fibro.

Glad that hasn't been a problem with me...and I had a a a...can't spell it...uterus taken out years ago.....

This year has been my worst year yet. Does fibro take a rest sometimes for a while???

Yes FM goes into remission on occasion. I have been lucky enough to go back to work in July after being out on disability for 5 years. But if I do and do something "normal" the pain flares again. For example, I moved this past weekend and here I am at work....miserable. Taking Robaxin like they were candy so I can sit in a chair comfortably.
The last few days, when 4:00 comes I have never been so happy and I love my job so its not the work. Its the pain!
