I have been on gabapentin for about 3 years now and luckily it has really helped with my numbness and pins and needles.. I also take mirapex for RLS (that works to) baclofen (flexeril w/ baclofen as needed), nabilone (really really great for pain, effexor (and also tramacet for the really bad pain days, it's as needed as well)
I think that it is a lot of meds to be taking at such a young age (33) but... they seem to help me quite well although, it did take 4 years to get a dx, then to find the "right" medications that would work for me.. I guess what I am trying to say is be patient, it may take some time to find the right mix of meds, and although the side effects do suck, if the med works; then I guess it falls to what is the lesser of 2 evils? (I only say this as I to gained weight, and am trying like heck to take it off now.) Take Care Lisa
