Confused New, and looking for advice

Hi, I am new to the site and was hoping someone may be willing to give me some advice. In the beginning of February I went to the doctor because I was chronically tired, had some blurring of my vision, and was experiencing numbness and tingling in my foot and leg. My first thought was diabetes. Tests have since ruled that out.

I had a return visit to the doctor on March 2nd. At this time the numbness was gone from my foot and leg but both of my hands were numb. I also had a numbness/heaviness across my chest, down my belly, and across my back. I noticed that if I nodded my head forward I had a mild shock like sensation in the tops of my feet and across my lower back. I still had the fatigue and blurred vision.

My doctor said that I was hypothyroid and that it COULD possibly explain all of my symptoms. He started me on synthroid, which I started taking March 4th.

As of right now, I have had no lessening of any of my symptoms. The numbness/heaviness has in fact progressed into my forearms and shoulders. If I lift my arms above my head they feel heavy. Both sides of my neck as well as my ears are numb. Today the numbness is now into the right side of my face.

He told me on this past Friday to just continue on the Synthroid as he is confident that it is hypothyroidism but there is a possibility that it could be MS. Do I sit around for another couple of weeks taking the Synthroid or do I demand for him to do something else? I am not scared of being diagnosed with MS, I know many people live normal lives with it and occasional flares.

My only problem right now is feeling like I am in limbo. I am taking a medication that is supposed to help me but I am only getting worse.

Any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
