Tomatogirl: vitacost sells a nice muscadine grape seed and I'm using it now again. mix the grape seed and the extract product. I'll ask my neighbor again if her Vit D levels are optimal. We were talking earlier today about the abx therapy by Dr. Brown. She's reading books, and one book is Rheumatoid Arthritis, The Infection Connection. Do you know about the abx protocol?

I'll bump this info up so more can "think" on these OPC's....I still believe EVERYONE can achieve improved health. I've lived with it myself and see it in friends who take OPC's....

The mega miles of info is out there and so many could be healthier OVERALL.

I'm certainly no doc and no official health expert, just 20 yrs of working with OPC's...

It's so sad that so many deal with so many health issues and little improvement if any.

This is not the only supp I use, but it's my MAIN one I'd never give up.

I have a good friend who has a history of colitis, and she has tried pycnogenol and grape seed ex, she has horrible allergy/sinus issues and "mild" asthma, doc even told her emphysema at one time, but she cannot take these OPC's as her digestive system can't deal with them. So, this is unfortunate as I know they would HELP her asthma issues. She smoked, grew up in a family that all smoked, grew up in the central valley of CA which is full of pollution from the ag industry and oil industry. Thank goodness my folks did not smoke, I never did, picked up a cig at about 18 as it was a "social" thing but never inhaled, so I was very fortunate.

Yesterday at bridge a friend who takes grape seed ex as does her husband, asked me why the OPC companies won't or don't advertise on TV......(got some answer on that from mrsD today) -- this is the memo I sent to her today with my thoughts:

((Ginny, I know you said your husband (Larry I think) is healthy etc etc.....I too was very healthy all in all but prior to 1995 was a slave to otc drugs and allergist MD for allergy/sinus issues....NEVER getting better...spending my money, making doc wealthier and spinning my wheels, but doing all I knew to do.

While at a lecture in OC, in 1995 on Pycnogenol which was coming into the U.S. from France....and I was getting heavily involved with supps then, we were told Pycnogenol MAY prevent cancer(s).....that was music to my ears, so I jumped on it, back then I was paying $40 a month for Pyc and to my greatest surprise about a week or so on Pyc, the lifelong allergy/sinus issues were GONE......

I have NOT bought a drug for this issue in 20 yrs soon. BTW: the allergy MD, I heard committed suicide about 10 yrs ago.....he forever was treating people with a horrible red running nose and nasel voice.... but his office was wall to wall sniffling people.....giving him their money and never getting better. I was one of them.

Now, why the OPC world can't or won't put this miracle OPC on TV, I have no idea, but have thoughts.....

I can just THINK on how so so so many could be healthier and MAYBE not get that dreaded cancer.

BTW: Mayo, City of Hope, Kettinger, Univ of Maryland Med are all using these OPC's in their cancer research.

After a year on Pyc, I was led to Grape Seed Ex and have used it primarily since....they about do the same thing....Pyc from maritime pine bark, grape seed ex from grape SEEDS.....

OPC's primarily are Pycnogenol, Grape Seed Extract, Resveratrol and Asthaxathin (sp)....

So let Larry know he MAY never end up with cancers to deal with.

Glad you and Mary came in high yesterday....take care...)))

So much info out there in this big world and I keep finding new info. Although I've done very very well for 20 yrs soon on grape seed ex capsules, some other friends on a health group was talking that she buys grape seed ex in bulk and takes 1/16 tsp = 200mg a couple times a day. This way, we eliminate fillers and get the pure stuff. I've read a bunch of reviews on buying in bulk via amazon and it's amazing way to get the best and no fillers...plus one can gauge even more how much they want to take in a day. I'm going to buy a bag of 100 grams and work with it. There is a company that ships all free no matter amount of order....very interesting for sure.
