Default I Need to Comfort Myself

I need comfort.
I have no one to comfort me. I must comfort myself.
Where do I learn how to comfort myself?

Default Hi Miss Bliss

Comfort is things you do for yourself that you like. Cuddle up with a good book. Take a warm shower, eat a piece of chocolate. Be with us here, and you are not alone. Tell me things you like to do. Pray Miss Bliss, even if it is not a regular thing for you. File your nails, make yourself feel pretty. I am 61, not beautiful by any standards, but that feeling of looking the best I can helps.
Believe me, my life is not a cake walk, not by a long shot. Life gets all of us down, and problems come by the dozens. It is not the hand you are given, but how you play it that counts. Go to your local library, you will meet people. Go to church if you can, where people can start to know you. Let people again get next to you a bit, and don't close yourself off to the possiblity of friendship. I will help in anyway I can. I have many folks here that do the same for me, when I hit a roough patch I can't get through.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. PM me if you want. ginnie

Bless your heart. It's awful when things get so stressful and we have no one to share it with or to get comfort from.

Ginnie is right. Sometimes taking a warm bath or shower helps. Reading a good book is also good. I like to crochet, and that helps me calm down. I also used to play the organ, but it needs repair right now darn it, so I can't use that for comfort. If you have a CD of a particular movie that warms your heart, watch that. That helps me. And as Ginnie suggested, prayer always helps. I don't actually "pray" as such -- I have a TALK with God. Saying actual prayers doesn't quite get it with me. I have to talk to God because I need to tell Him exactly what it is that's bothering me. I know that He already knows it, but it helps to "discuss" it with Him. So we have a talk. And I always feel better afterwards too!

I wish you the very best MissBliss. I know this is a hard time for you. If you'd like to talk, just PM me and I'll be happy to talk to you. I've been where you are and I know how it feels. Please take good care of yourself -- God bless. Hugs, Lee
