I live in fear basically. Fear, anxiety, panic attacks, hypochondria, all reverting to a fear of death I believe. I had my grandmother die of brain cancer, an uncle commit suicide, a second cousin commit suicide, another grandmother die of cancer, and my dad of a heart attack. I'm only 21 but I fear I'm going to die in a horrible way from something horrible or suddenly. I have a pineal cyst (which I covered in most of my other posts) but I fear brain cancer especially now. I want to face my fears but how do you face the fear of death and disease?

I'm very sorry that you've experienced so much loss at such a young age. That is certainly something that I am familiar with as well. The fact that you have been diagnosed with the Pineal Cyst would, I imagine, play a huge, huge part in exacerbating your already present anxiety about living and dying.
Everyone is different I know, but for me the best way to conquer something like this is to learn as much as I can about it. That way I know the facts and I'm not left wondering and worrying myself sick. It seems to me that your Neurologist has not explained your health condition to you well enough. I'm only guessing that from previous questions but if I was in your situation and dealing with other health issues as well as this cyst, then I would make an appointment with the Neurologist or with any other health practitioner that you know and have seen before and take in a list of your questions and find out all that is possible. |

Hi Txxxrho, I really hope you are able to overcome your anxiety about death. I also lost several close family members while I was quite young, so I think I know the type of emotions you are trying to work through.
I see that there is a book that is currently available on Amazon. It is titled “The Fear of Dying: How to Overcome the Fear of Death in Order to Fully Enjoy Life”, by Juri Hansen. I cannot give this book an actual recommendation, as I have not read it myself, but it has very good customer reviews (4.9 out of 5 stars). It can be read on your PC or Kindle, it is brief (only 24 printed pages), and it is inexpensive ($2.99 Kindle). You may want to check it out to see if it is something you might be interested in reading. |

I hope you are doing better as this posting is a few months old. We've all had some losses I'd say but work thru it all and go on with life. Staying in fear keeps us from living. My grandkids 18 and 15 lost their dad a year ago at 55 and as sad as it's been, they go on and do their lives...they've had therapy and my daughter works with AA principles to help it all. Proud of my grandgirl as she enters UCLA in Sept...her dad would be so proud. Sadly, he's missed this. Carry on, hang in and do your life.
